    So archers... The most annoying class in ctf. There should be a rework on it. First, the insta kill from 30+ blocks thing should have a time limit and a cooldown. Second, remove that punch 1 enchantment. They could literally just spam with the bow and knock you off. So here's my idea.

    Idea: Sniper Mode

    Archers can only insta kill you from afar when they're in Sniper Mode and the bow is more powerful.(It could have power 3 or smthg like that) So if they're not in sniper mode, their bow is just gonna be a normal power 1 bow. But, when in sniper mode, you take more damage.(Could be something similar to death tag) Also, theres a time limit for sniper mode. It could be around 2 minutes and when you snipe someone, it removes 5 seconds. You can see when an archer is in Sniper mode because their armor will have the enchant glint. So for the cooldown, let's say that around 3-5 minutes would be nice.

    Pros and cons about Sniper mode:

    Pros:
    - You can insta kill ennemies if u snipe them from 30+ blocks
    - The bow is more powerful

    Cons:
    - You take more damage
    - You lose 5 seconds of sniper mode when you snipe someone
    - You're more noticeable since your armor has the enchant glint

    I wonder if it was a good idea to post this lol.

    Oh ye I forgot to mention how to activate sniper mode. Just left-click the bow

    In my opinion, this is what I would do: Get rid of the punch on the bow, so if the archer has bad positioning, they can't just bow spam their way out of the situation. Secondly, put a cool-down on the insta kill, for example: 2/3 seconds. Currently, an archer can just rain arrows from an unknown direction and kill 3-4 flag carriers if they're standing near each other (this happens frequently in PPMs). I think this would be the perfect nerf.

    New idea, remove archer entirely and broadcast a global server message to non VIP new players telling them to go f*ck themselves

    I’m a pretty huge archer hater, but there are certain aspects that need to remain the same.
    This would majorly limit archer from its current standing point, as all it takes is a decently experienced ninja or really any class if used right to easily exterminate an archer, perhaps making it have some sort of limiting factor to being able to attack back would be a good factor for this.
    This could be a pretty good counter, as in darker maps it would be easier to spot archers, but maybe instead swapping the helmet or chest plate to gold or diamond to be more noticeable, similar to how the paladin class has its helmet turn to gold when in the shield mode.

    They only take more damage when they're in sniper mode. Plus, most of the time, archers win a fight against a ninja.

    Pretty interesting and unique idea, I'll give you that. A lot of people try to take away the insta kill entirely, which simply makes archer pretty useless.

    Personally my issue with this is the downtime/uptime, the effectiveness while sniper mode is on cooldown, as well as the fact that you're being punished for hitting your shots instead of missing them.

    First, the time. The longer you make the cooldowns and such, the harder it is to keep track of and the more it complicates the class. If I were to do it, I'd have maybe 15-20 seconds for "sniper mode" to be active, and have a 15-30 second cooldown. That way the archer really has to time it well and make use of that time to be effective.

    Second, archer without headshot is pretty useless. Steak is a thing and medics are a thing. Any damage you do will just be healed off, and now they know where you are and that you're looking at them so they'll start to dodge. People meme about it, but moving randomly makes it a lot more difficult to hit them and is pretty effective. When "sniper mode" is on cooldown, I'd honestly would prefer the bow to have at least power II. I don't know the exact numbers but somewhere around there. Or maybe just true damage? Idk.

    Third, you're suggesting punishing the archer for being good, removing 5 seconds of uptime for every shot they hit. If anything, it should be the other way around. 5+ more seconds if they do hit a shot. Think about if we punished a ninja for every time he hit someone or egged someone, like decreasing their damage for every hit or egg. Or for every kill assassin gets, we increased their assassinate cooldown. Or for every hit a heavy gives/takes, we decrease their armor. You're punishing them for being good which doesn't make a lot of sense.

    Overall it's actually a pretty interesting idea that could help provide that need for value/punishment for being good or bad that ctf needs. I'm still partial to my own idea of putting all the power in the archer's bow and making it's cqc ability weaker, but that's just me.

    that's stupid and I think you're letting your annoyance for the class get in the way of actually balancing it.

    First of all, i was just joking and second of all, archers could just rain arrows from 30+ blocks in the battlefield and get like 1 extra minute.

    First, good. Second, yea I dont think that'll happen, nor matter too much. The most kills I've ever gotten on Blackout (arguably the most op archer map) is about 105 or so. That's about 3 kills per minute, or 1 kill every 20 seconds if you're averaging everything out. If you do 5 seconds per headshot, that's like 15-30 seconds extra. And that's like peak archer gameplay.
