Dwarf balancing

    The Dwarf class of ctf is regarded as the worst class in the game at the moment. Its slowness 2 makes it difficult to even get to the flagroom before the enemy offense does. This results in the dwarf never getting a charge before the enemy steals, making it virtually useless. Because of this dwarf is banned for competitive play. I have some balance changes (not a full rework) that can potentially solve the dwarf issue. I have played dwarf for a while now, and it is one of my favorite classes, despite its many flaws.

    Permanent potion effects
    I would start out by giving dwarf permanent slowness one, and water breathing. Slowness 2 is way too much. However, removing slowness completely would make it too OP. I would also like to add a semi permanent strength one.

    Dwarf Sword Charge
    I would like to (if possible) remove sharpness charge completely. When dwarf has a charge, and it blocks, the meter can drop changing the sharpness on the sword. This sword switch makes it vulnerable to assassinate, even when holding block. I would like to replace that with charging strength instead. It will be able to gain up to 4 levels. The first level will bring it up to strength 2, and each level will add one strength.

    Armour
    Armour will remain the same.
    Steak will remain the same.

    Weapon
    Permanent knockback one diamond sword

    Interesting concept Bama, it’s not a massive rework of the class which I like.
    I think the main issue that dwarf has at the moment is it’s slowness, as CTF tends to be quite fast paced and any class can simply runaway from the class. So I’d almost propose taking all levels of slowness away from it and slightly nerfing your strength rework/nerfing the sharpness ability as a hotfix for the class. I’ll admit, I’ve never touched dwarf as the play style doesn’t interest me but I’m sure it’d be much nicer to actually be able to chase your opponent. (Perhaps the dwarf can’t use speed buffs to competent this lack of slowness? Just an idea)
    I think as your rework stands currently the levelling of strength could potentially be too powerful, I’m sure someone could crunch the numbers for comparison with strength vs sharpness but, speaking from experience, it’s not nice being one shot by a levelled up dwarf.
    Just my takeaways from it, I like where your heads at and definitely a good way of looking at changing current dwarf in my opinion. Hope that helps in some way!

    I did not crunch the numbers on the strength. I will definitely look up the numbers, and find that out. I will change the idea accordingly.

    Hey B_Swan,
    I heavily agree with you, that Dwarf needs a balancing change.
    Unlike Paddy earlier mentioned, I would favor a massive rework for dwarf, to finally unrestrict it from MMR.
    I like the idea of removing its slowness, even though I'm not a huge fan of its knockback.
    If you would remove the slowness completely and therefore let dwarf charge up to strength 1 or 2, I could see this come closer to CTF.
