Strategic play is almost non-existent in War. It's fun, but unfortunately the server isn't built around strategy. However, you can still play with strategy. Here are a few tips-
    • Suppress your enemies at a choke point. In Battlefield 3 and 4, there is a mechanic called suppression. It takes away health regeneration and either sways your screen (BF4) or decreases accuracy (BF3). Although this doesn't (currently) exist in MC-War, you can still use it. When shooting at an area where your enemies are waiting to come out, many won't want to come out since they'll be killed by you. Killing one or two people will generally discourage many from going and they will wait, leaving them open to a flanking attack or a direct assault.
    • Do what you're supposed to do. Your weapons are all used for different tasks in the end. Snipers should pick off enemies from medium-long ranges, as sniper rifles are built for medium-long range combat. Although you can use sniper rifles at close range, you should generally stay back and pick off enemies with them. Assault rifles are best used for suppression and combat at close-medium range. There is a point where your bullets will reach their maximum distance and fall, so they can't be used at long range. Shotguns are used for CQC most of the time, although some shotguns like the Model 1887 and the SPAS-24 can reach out to longer ranges. You're there to support your allies if enemies get too close or if they try to flank you. Submachine guns are basically a combination of assault rifles and shotguns; firing fast but only really effective at closer ranges. Their spread means that you can't use them at longer ranges, and their bullets drop after around 80 blocks. SMGs can be used at close-medium range, and aren't very effective from there.
    • Use your tacticals, lethals, and killstreaks to support your teammates. If you have grenades, C4, molotovs, etc., you should use them. Grenades will generally force a camper out of their spot to be flanked or killed off in a frontal assault, because if used correctly, they can kill the camper easily unless they move. Molotovs will basically disable health regeneration by setting an enemy on fire, and the fire generally panics your enemies. Flashbangs will blind your enemies, making them easier for your teammates to kill off. In addition, with flashbangs and molotovs, if you hit, you can hear the blood, which is just redstone blocks breaking. This can indicate to you and your teammates if there is an enemy hiding nearby. C4 can also be used to get those pesky campers and allow your team to advance by killing campers behind a wall. A tomahawk could save a teammate's life by killing the enemy that's about to take them out. As well as that, using an EMP to blind the other team is a great help to your teammates. Of course, the tactical nuke is a great help as well, since everyone on the other team ends up dead, which means your team can advance.
    • Communicate. Good communication is key to winning a fight. Although you cannot "spot" enemies like you can in Battlefield, you can tell your teammates that there is an enemy coming with good communication. Although there is the chat, the best way to communicate is by talking, either in a Skype call or on TeamSpeak. Communication makes all the difference.
    • Stay with teammates. Staying alone is a way to get yourself killed in TDM gamemodes. Have teammates support you when fighting groups of the enemy, or support them when they need to take cover.
    • Work well with your teammates. If a member of your team is laying down suppressing fire, it's your opportunity to take out the enemies he's suppressing by flanking them or quickly taking one out at a time. You can even go so far as to make a "squad" with fellow clan members (if you have a clan), a small group of teammates who support each other in different ways.
Those are a few ways to play strategically in War. Although strategy isn't what the server is built around, it is still possible. Plus playing strategically is very fun, and it's a lot more satisfying than trying to get a high killstreak, in my opinion. Many skills from Battlefield can apply to War; you can support your teammates and do your role

You should add ZapCrusher is great at one of these
I don't think you remember, but, in my early days I loved to cap the flag and such.

This is what 99% of people should do instead of rush nuking with Skully in CTF.

This is a really good guide Brawler! It's absolutely amazing and can make MC-War a better place for everyone. You make me want to group up with some fellow Bevy members and fire a fullout rush on the opponents, or "suppress" them. This guide is really useful and I hope it helps out a lot of people.

Every time I emp/nuke on ctf I say RUUNNN so they can go get the flag for me
Usually I end up getting it and nuking at the other teams flag .-.

    Hah, don't you love Battlefield?
The best way to work with your clan mates is to talk with them on TeamSpeak or Skype. I would use TeamSpeak, but that's just me.
Oh, I wish. It would be a nice change to see people actually going for the flag instead of trying to nuke, like back in the old days.
Imagine what Domination will be like...
Unfortunately, you can't play strategically in War, really because of how different the guns are. The Skullcrusher is so much better than the M16, when it should just be a little bit better....

Also one of them is the main reason I die.
Recently Chris and Ben kept after me and nobody helped me :C
@SuperBen4 and Chris really did work together.
Now only If. I had a better computer for Vez.
We would be unstopable (unless melt logs on)

This is a guide to help people who want to play tactical. Most people will ignore this because there's really no teamwork going on in War. :V

Meh, it's still more fun to go solo with the Iso and see how many quickscopes you can get IMO.

Personally, I don't like to always rush in on people. I like to play with strategy quite a bit too. Yeah, I understand what you mean though. There are a lot of people who do not care about their team and only care about their kills + deaths.

It really does help sitting in the same room as your team mate . Me and superdad4 are boss when we are on together because you can communicate. Skype and Ts would be the same I'm guessing.
