quick update -

Although I'm out of puberty (physically... I think mentally it's a totally different story ) and updating even every 5 years would probably be enough, there's a couple reasons why I do it now anyway:

• I don't want to be seen as someone with some kinda weird minecraft (penguin) head on my head along with weird nerds in front of a pagoda (jk I love y'all @ADV <3)
• I don't want to be seen as spongebob (long legs thanks to being stuck on a slide while driving) :[
• I need my yearly dose of attention
• Other people actually update way more often so I don't feel too ashamed to update again ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
• And, finally and most importantly: MY HAIR IS NOT SO MESSY THIS TIME. Happens on 4 days per year, so very rare! (Yeah quite obvious that this is the main reason oops)

(I do, however, still look somewhat tired as usual)

I'd shortly like to adress your wish and explain why I didn't bother to justify it in a full-blown thesis (and won't do so even now).
What is a thesis? It's usually meant to get you some kind of degrees and sits(depending on the degree) somewhere between 25 and 150+ pages.
What are the fundamentals of every academic thesis? I'd like to state a few: clear methodology, referring to previous work/theories/literature, helping explore a new area/getting research further. The first two could theoretically be integrated with the task you assigned me. I doubt the third could.
My selfie could serve as an example in a thesis about (let's just make a working title for now) "Justifying selfies: Where and when they hit the sweet spot of self-affirmation and getting attention".
Now that in itself would work, although I'd still doubt that the speciific selfie at hand is of great interest to the bigger picture of research, even as an example.
Turning the justification of this specific selfie itself into a thesis would pretty much mean making a single-case-study out of one of the most uninteresting selfies. Every thesis, especially one with a single-case-study, absolutely needs to justify why this (or these) specific case (or cases) was (or were) selected. I doubt that this selfie would make the cut.
