Guide to Under-Used Guns

A lot of guns go unused on War and many people leave some of their guns to sit and collect dust. So why not take a rag, dust off those guns and find out how to use these under-used guns to the best of your ability.

Note: I am only covering guns I have unlocked so far. I will update the guide as I unlock more of the prestige guns.

Pistols

#1 - USP-45: I know what you're thinking, "You unlock the M9 so early, what's the point of teaching me how to use it better?" and I somewhat agree with you. But why not give the pistol some love? The biggest problem with the USP-45 is its accuracy and fire rate. While the damage isn't spectacular, it doesn't require a whole lot of bullets to kill someone. Just dodge other bullets (easier said then done) and start using this pistol and hopefully nuke with it.

#2 - Magnum: Most players tend to stick with the M9 until they unlock the Desert Eagle, which is fine. But many people underestimate this gun. It does the same amount of damage as the Desert Eagle, the Magnum it just fires a bit slower. And even better, it has the best accuracy (when aimed in) then any other pistol. It also looks really cool

#3 - Executioner: A heavily under-rated gun. The executioner gets a lot of flack due to it being a shotgun pistol. It does 70 damage at point blank which, although not spectacular, doesn't take a whole lot to kill a player. This pistol is extremely useful for infect, especially when your primary is reloading or out of ammo.

Assault Rifles

#1 - M4A1: While not technically an under-used gun a lot seem to forget it exists once they get the ak-47. It's op for the level you unlock it at, and it is only 75 credits which is very cheap. It doesn't do as much damage as the ak-47 but the difference in damage is only 4 points so it is just as effective as the Ak-47.

#2 - Lamentation: The biggest reason most smg's and assault rifles are rarely used is because of the tendency to run out of ammo, even with scav. The Lamentation is an example of that. But, learn to conserve your ammo and get more kills, this assault rifle can become a real threat.

Snipers

#1 - Barret 50cal: The only under-used sniper. It used to be like the iso which one shot everything. It was however nerfed, and many people consider it to be the worst sniper out there. It does 9 hearts to the body and is a one shot kill to the head. If you don't hit the head, just switch to your side-arm and finish them off.

Shotguns

#1 - M1014: Heavily under-used. It doesn't have the potential to one-hit, but it does do 88 damage at point blank. If it doesn't kill them, quickly switch to your pistol and kill them. If you're really skilled with it, you can even nuke with it.

#2 - AA12: Considered the worst shotgun. I agree that it is rarely useful, aside from toying people with it
However, with its fully automatic fire-rate, it can keep them from aiming while you pick them off. Just be sure to not shoot them out of map.

#3 - Spas 24: This shotgun used to just be a clone of the spas 12 since the two were pretty much the same. Since then it has been buffed and is probably the best shotgun. Its fire rate is faster then the Moddel making it more suitable for infect, when you get swamped by a zombie horde. It also does 224 dmg at point blank, essentially a one-shot kill like the Moddel.

#4 - Typhoid: For the last shotgun unlocked, it IS sub-par compared to the spas-24 and moddel, but it is a burst shotgun and it does only a little more dmg then the spas-12. It is still a one-hit at point-blank. This shotgun would only be effective in ffa and small maps. For infect, it depends on the map size and where you prefer to camp. The only real problem I can see with the Typhoid is it's small clip and its tendency to run out of ammo quickly, even with scav.

Sub-Machine Guns

#1 - Mac-10: Although many people use the ak-47 over this, it's still a decent smg. It does 14 damage per bullet, so it does take quite a few bullets to kill someone, but its clip size is enough to take out 3-4 people.

#2 - MP7: Does more damage then the mac 10 but many people shun it due to its low clip size. Even with the low clip size, its still relatively good for ffa and certain tdm/ctf maps.


I hope you liked this guide. It didn't take too long to make this, but I hope you can take these tips to heart and give these guns another chance.

 

Maybe, but that doesn't mean they have to be totally forgotten. In my opinion, the gun is only as good as the person who uses it.

 

I love the mp7. The only downside is that if you're not careful you'll drain the clip before you kill your target, which I do all the time since my aim is pretty bad.

I like the USP-45 too. But a lot of people don't. The guide was originally made for the latter group of people.
