Idea Ninja Enderpearl Ability "Flash/Blink" (Mobility Buff)

    Here I explain the reasons for wanting to edit/buff ninja's enderpearl ability:
    This would just be an add-on, so it would still keep the old way of teleportation.
    I know necro has a much higher priority, but this would still be a needed buff and fresh addition to ninja/CTF, while helping to counter soldier's OP mobility which no other class can match.


    So we all know how soldier is... Its wall-climb & no fall damage gives the class the best mobility in the game, with ninja and elf following behind (though elf is more of a soldier-counter with its earth spell, rather than with its mobility).

    Soldier's mobility makes it extremely hard to recov off of when out of the flagroom, making archer's headshot (which can hit any elevation) the most effect way to kill it (or any class). Because even if an archer is obstructed from view from pulling off a headshot, it would most likely mean the soldier is hiding in an enclosure to thus make it vulnerable to any other recov class.

    Although in theory ninja's enderpearl and speed II gives it incredible mobility, its ability to enderpearl is still a great hinderance. It takes 2 hearts of damage for each enderpearl thrown. Also, it is overall faster to run to a location, rather than to throw an enderpearl, crouch heal, and move on.

    On top of the damage taken from enderpearling and the inconvenient time it takes to heal that damage...
    When facing a runaway soldier (aka the most mobile capper & hardest to recov off of class in the game), directly aiming an enderpearl on a raised platform where the soldier is running on is either really hard or impossible. Even though ninja's mobility is x5 better than most classes, this is where its useless compared to that of a soldier. If there's a great height difference between the platform the soldier is running on and where the ninja is standing, the enderpearl would need to be thrown up into the air in a large arch. But depending on the height of the targeted platform, the soldier would be long gone or on a different platform before the ninja's enderpearl finally lands. (And even if the ninja manages to land an enderpearl near the soldier, the ninja would only be able to get 1-2 hits either before dying or before the soldier moves up/down elevation...which would be one step closer to the ninja's death-by-enderpearl/sword.)

    So this is where my enderpearl ability edit/buff idea comes into play:

    This proposal would do nothing but make enderpearling onto evaluated platforms easier and much faster.
    And this would essentially help it in taking out runaway soldiers, because ninja is one of the few classes atm that can (even though atm it's too ineffective for dying too easily when it reaches the soldier).

    So when a ninja endepearls, instead of a glass pane appearing as a placeholder for the enderpearl item in the hotbar, an eye of ender would appear as the placeholder. When the eye of ender is right clicked, the ninja would be instantly teleported to its enderpearl (wherever it is in the air). The mid-air enderpearl would explode into teleportation particles/smoke as the ninja appears in its place. The damage from this teleportation would be just like a normal enderpearl teleportation, dealing 2 hearts of damage upon teleportating in place of the mid-air enderpearl. And as the ninja falls from whatever height, it would take no fall damage (just like a soldier).
    It could be– a timer that activates no fall damage for that ninja player after right clicking the eye of ender which could last about 3 seconds.

    Or better yet– while the eye of ender is a placeholder, the ninja will take no fall damage. So that after right clicking the eye of ender, the eye of ender will remain as the place holder until the ninja touches the ground. When the ninja touches the ground, the eye of ender placeholder would be replaced back by an enderpearl item in the hotbar, which would signal normal/default fall damage effects from there on out (until the ninja decides to activate its "flash/blink" mid-air teleportation again).

    It could also have a cool-down of 10 sec or so, shown by the experience bar.
    This is like a typical ninja-style move in most games. It could be called Flash or Blink: Mid-air Teleportation.

    Final Outcome:
    A ninja would still be able to do its normal enderpearl teleportation, which would be the fastest way of traveling long, horizontal distances. The Flash/Blink teleportation would be the fastest for traveling vertical distances, because a ninja could immediately and precisely drop down from the arch of its enderpearl throw/trajectory onto a targeted platform.

    (I still think ninja needs a sharpness buff, but this change would definitely improve its versatility (which is already a large aspect of the class) while overall making it better and more fun. Hopefully this could also help compensate for its easy deaths/current sword sharpness level.)

    if there was a cool down it might be a bit better cause imagine the flying ninjas ( if they got regen from chemist or something)
    Other then that Great idea blink sounds great it would change the game not only on defense but also on offense like the ninja capers would be even stronger gj gg
    I always thought that flash bombs could paralyze the soldier and make it unable to wall climb for a few seconds but that's not rlly good
    Oh and I also think that though it will help u catch up with them you can't rlly do anything if they wall climb on thin air
    I don't rlly know I'm thinking and writing about it so not real thought put into this

    I think it shouldnt work if you have the flag, but this would be a cool idea. +1

    I'm not sure if focusing Ninja more on recovery rather than making it more of a stealthy glass cannon is a good idea, let alone turning it into both with a buff to its sword and mobility. What good would Assassin be if Ninja can perform both roles just as well, if not better, than Assassin can?

    Creative idea but I'm not quite on board.

    While I agree with most of the things you said on the thread, I disagree with the no-fall after using the eye of ender. I believe taking fall damage would balance it out, as without fall damage, Ninjas would fly around like spider monkeys with lots of health and therefore time, literally making it beyond hard to capture when more than one ninja is going after you.

    Or possibly, there could be a cooldown between using the eye of ender. Either way, cool idea.
