For me some resource packs help me with gameplay. Sometimes other resource packs mess up my gameplay. I wanted to know your opinion.

Personally, I would hate to play with regular Minecraft items, and I think that resource packs do help me play well. I definitely recommend the PuttyLicious pack created by Chickenputty, and also the regular pack. Resource packs also give it that more CoD feel instead of feeling like Minecraft which is great as well.

Well it is easier to see what gun you are currently using. It doesn't effect that much gameplay, it's just for the cool/good looks you can get in game.

For me, @LuckyPop old WarZ texturepack made me feel cool 'n **** and wanted me to scream into my crappy mic whenever I got a kill, but I think that was just me.

You can see the map, time and a lot more wich can be very useful sometimes!

This came from someone who never used one of the resource packs :V

But still, it is pretty useful

Some resource packs do make it more difficult (cough cough night warfare and hardcore cough cough) but of course, that's on purpose.
I do better for some reason when packs are 32x32 or 64x64 (GUI, blocks and chat, at least) since it lets me see stuff more easily, and since it looks nicer. However, I also prefer resource packs where I can recognize guns (oh, that gun is the G36C, or that gun is the MTAR-21, etc.) and packs that have good looking guns.
That's where my resource packs come into play. I made them, so they have guns that look good (imo) and guns I recognize.

And then there's FPS drops with high-res packs. But I generally do best with my Battlefield pack or the default 32x pack, and my sound addon. The former because they look cool, and the latter because it makes MC-War sound like a battlefield.

Resource packs help me see what guns everyone ELSE has. I want my resource pack to be clear on what gun is what, as it helps me pick my gun fights better. With a really detailed pack, it can be hard to see the difference between say an iso and a minigun at long range. It just helps me pick my gun fights better.
Block wise, it really does not matter.

I find that the better resource pack I get, the more confident I am, and the more ballsy I play, for better or for worse.

As long as I use a texture pack that makes the guns look like guns, and not minecraft items, I do good. I just do really bad with the default minecraft texture pack for some reason.

And you, sir, are making an off topic post.
Please at least stay on topic

I realized something else; resource packs in 1.8 can now edit basic item models.
Now it's possible to make gun models. (but really hard)

I think that having a pack tooled for mc-war helps for immersion really well. Having an actual targeting dot/crosshairs really helps as well

I just use faithful, it helps me concentrate.

I never use the war texture, I don't like it.
