    As of now, CTF will return to us in its original state for the most part, which is a great move. Even so, that shouldn't keep ideas at a standstill as we have talked about ideas for years without results before. As this is the first serious discussion thread since the move, let's keep it general so any new players can get the general idea of what people with experience think need change.

    For me, I love dreaming about instakills eventually being removed from the game but I know that will not happen, and my more realistic aspiration is in regards to striving for a noob friendly environment. This includes minor things such as

    • An easier to navigate Class Selector
    • Changing Steak To Potions(Hell, even soup.)
    • Minor class changes to help new players react (such as a sound when assassin activates instakill)
    None of these are meant to be game changers, rather just hhelp CTF when it (hopefully) gets an influx of players.

    Another note, as This section of CTF and The Ideas/Suggestion section are rather unclear, I think it'd be a good idea to establish the idea section as more specific ideas (Class Concepts, Gameplay Mechanics etc) while this section regards conceptual ideas that are not fully fleshed out and specific (as well as the dank memes).

    Anyways, what would you want to see happen with this new change of ownership?

    It would be amazing to have the instant kills not a thing. This of course requires creative solutions which may reach us if we allow them to. Solider wall spam needs to be addressed along with Chemist potions.

    I think it would be nice if we could focus on smaller changes like healing mechanics instead of class reworks or even deletions. People will need some time to get used to this, anyway - going to controverse topics such as instakills or soldier would upset parts of the community, I believe.

    I agree with changing steak to soup, it's simple and makes the form of healing congruent with other gamemodes.

    On MCPVP: "Soup is literally Hitler."
    On Brawl: "Yeah, soup might not be too bad. Let's go for it."

    For the record, I'm not against steak being replaced by something else. In fact, I agree with it being changed. I just love the difference in attitudes from April 1 to now. :stuck_out_tongue:

    Cosmetic changes are already being made, overall CTF and the MCPVP game modes are going to look a lot more visually appealing.

    But if its to make CTF noob friendly then there's no way out of it.

    Sounds good, though I hope there's not too many particles, they drop my fps quite a bit. A resource pack with custom sounds would be pretty neat imo.

    Not so much particles as 1.8 features (titles and actionbars), sounds, holograms, etc. Some particles may be added here and there for cool effect.

    • "Changing Steak To Potions(Hell, even soup.)" I personally don't like this idea. I'm open to some changes, but I really think steak is just better for the game. Doesn't seem like much of a soup game in my opinion. =(

    I have an idea about recovs but idk it could be messed up. So if you kill someone with the flag it automatically recovers. If someone drops it it stays there for 15 secs. Idk

    i like the way it is now, makes it more interesting tbh, but i also like it being an instant recov... gah its so hard to decide :C

    People are used to soup being a healing item, so its really either potions or soup. Ive met too many people unaware that steak heals and the reason for steaks healing was to emulate the old hunger mechanics which are long gone.

    It's not really anything major or game breaking dude, it would literally just be switching the steak with stackable soup. Changing it to soup would make it more easier for new players to know how to heal (due to games on Brawl using soup).

    Nothing really, ctf'ers just prefer steak since its been here since the beginning. On April fools, steak was changed to soup and people were freaking out.

    I've just always thought of soup as an HG/Kit thing. I know it could be pretty easily changed (and don't get me wrong, I'm open to changing some things on CTF) but I personally really like steak for CTF.
    Also, I'm agreeing with what @Rohaibcheema said.
