Idea [Rework] Assassin

    @SplitScene The whole point is to work out instakills, because they are unfair and make the game less fun to play. Also, where are you from?

    I'd say instakills are what make the game so fast paced and exciting. Without instakills, it would just be like Kitpvp with a flag to capture . . .

    Okay I think it's time for me to rip the duct tape out of my mouth...
    Both teams have a flag holding, experienced Soldier right next to spawn with three personal Medics. And to top it all off, an Engineer.
    A game that doesn't progress shouldn't be a game at all. And let's be honest, who doesn't like a coordinated Archer/Ninja recover?

    Well, what you just gave was a perfect example of something OP as all heck, and lists other broken things. These things also need to be fixed, such as medics insta-heal (I still think it's too strong), and engineer sux. But tbh, you could have 3 heavy's and the flag would still be terrible to recover. In fact, it should be hard to recover if there are people guarding the flag carrier. An insta-kill rework would have the same effect (I dun know wat to do with archer doe :/), and would be healthier for the game in general.

    I think that the instant kill classes need to be reworked at the same time as the classes that they counter. If you take out the instant kills first, that makes Soldier that much more tanky. If solider gets reworked before an assassin, then the instant kill loses its main purpose. Unless the instant kill rework works so well that it negates the food chain.

    To be honest, this sounds like it would be a better nerf for ninja than assassin. There is nothing wrong with the true damage, but we already have ninja which does 4 hearts all of the time and basically makes this pointless. I also don't like how it is very easy to see when an assassin is in rage mode and the full armor is a little bit on the op side of the spectrum. Nice ideas, though.

    Great idea :grinning: I just think the yellow armor is a bit too much. Maybe just sticking with the normal assassin armor would be a good idea. But assassin having all these attributes with the gold boots would be cool.

    SplitScene makes a point. As I use dwarf a lot, I am relatively familiar with its defensive capabilities (especially when someone better than me uses it). A high level dwarf has very little to fear (in doors at least [freaking head-shotting archers xD]) except an assassin and maybe a skilled pyro or chemist. And taking away the main counter (in my opinion) to a dwarf, which is assassin's Insta-kill, would really make it harder for the attacking team to get through the oppositions defense.

    And also note that Mage doesn't always counter Dwarf while Dwarf is on defense. There's always some other class defending, which may interfere with Mage.

    Well yeah, but dwarf is also broken. It's useless in the beginning, but quickly snowballs into OP. Dwarf needs a rework as well, which is why it should be reworked as well as the insta-kills.

    I love how every idea that isn't yours you find the bad parts and bring them out.

    Great idea. When I saw assassin rework I though that it would be stupid. This is actually better than the original!

    Thanks for adding that. I forgot about mage. Yeah, If there aren't other classes around, mage can be pretty good against dwarf, especially if out of the dwarfs reach indoors.

    I would say that the slowness and the being weaker in the beginning kind of balance it out, especially when it can be instakilled. If you don't think it does, please explain.

    All the slowness does is force dwarf to flag camp. In addition, dwarf becomes non-instakillable by pyro, immune to chemist potions, and get's all the enchantments (basic ones) on it's sword at level 5. That's not a long wait. The whole concept is broken. Also, every class can be insta-killed, that's not an argument for balance.

    Dwarf is fine :rage:
    You can't gain levels when you block. Assassins can easily kill em from a surprise attack coz the dwarf only gains levels by shifting with the sword and NOT blocking. Plus, ninjas can kill em pretty fast if you can hit fast (I've killed plenty that way). And, as said before, mages can kill em. Archers can also headshot them, because not many people know dwarf can block headshots (if the flag room is kinda open and arrows can get in). Speaking of that, archers can shoot em with arrows and they dont stand a chance. then there's elf...

    Enough said. plus I'm biased, I love dwarf, and I hate changing anything in ctf. :grinning:

    1. You still gain levels when you're shifting in spawn, js (at least it was like that the last time I checked)
    2. Assassin kills everything easily with a surprise attack
    3. Ninjas kill everything easily. Dwarf has the most powerful armour in game (except the one from Heavies) and it can two or one-shot ninjas after a certain level, so... no, not really a valid point imo
    4. Again, Archer can headshot everything (except Elf, and, ooh, big surprise, Dwarf if it's blocking). Archer is broken as well imo.
    Sure, if there's only one Dwarf in def, there's almost no way to survive long and you'll get killed by a mage easily etc.
    But one single Medic in the def is enough to make Dwarf insanely OP (which is a problem of Medic's healing abilities imo, but that'd belong to a new post)

    And, as Obi said correctly, your points could be used with every class.
    Fashionista can be instakilled, ergo it's fine!!1! (#NerfFashionista imo!!1!)
