Isn't paying for kits kinda.. illegal according to Mojang on donating?

The server is made unique from the vanilla version of the game that makes it a completely different experience than if you just bought a server and started running it. There are various games that have been made out of other games and it's not very fair for you to completely discredit someones work just because they didnt make the initial game.

 

There classes, so were fine.

 

However, the server still uses Minecraft software as a base platform, which is considered intellectual property of Mojang, so their EULA still applies to it.

 

When there's no cops around, anything is legal.

 

If I recall correctly, the EULA issue was dropped when Microsoft acquired Mojang.

 

No one has enforced the Eula, so it doesn't really necessarily have to be followed. Try not to be that one person who ruins the fun and reports brawl.

 

If your wondering why CTF was changed to re-add kit purchasing, it's because when we had complied with Mojang's EULA, we literally couldn't afford to keep our servers open... and after a bit hclewk made a post on the MCPVP forums about it, and we basically ignored it ever since... since I'm not a legal expert, I won't tell you if it's legal or not, sorry.

EULA is complex.

Every player can earn their way and players who want to play can do that of their own free will (and wallet).

I don't see this as an issue.

I though Mojang said you cannot purchase Pay2win items? Anyone can play well with any class. You don't need to pay to play better than someone else.

Have this in mind, having "free" classes instead of "paid" ones every single day in ctf will just be chaotic. (Freeday everyday in other words)

A single class goes for 2.50... my lunch costs more than that, just buy it. Also it isn't pay to win, the best classes in the game are indeed the free ones. I have most of the bought classes myself and i still end up playing archer more than anything. Though setting people on fire is pretty funny.

 

Even if the EULA was still in effect, I doubt that Mojang/Microsoft would come after Brawl for charging $2.50 for CTF classes. What they are really looking for are servers that cause kids to steal their parents' credit cards and donate thousands of dollars to servers.
