So I've seen at least one Brawl team attempted to be made. I applaud you for your effort and open minded-ness. I also noticed, however, that the team was a bit off as far as organization goes. So I decided to make this little guide on making a team.

    ***Disclaimer:***

I have never made a team, but neither have some of you. From the one team thread I saw, I seem to have a better idea, but that's still not to say I've made a team. If anyone who has made a team wants to replace this guide with a better one, go ahead. I'll ask for this thread to be deleted/locked.

So you've decided to make a CTF team. You're not as new to the game as you once were, and you think y-

That's the first step. You need to know the game like the back of your hand (which should be easy, considering both of them are on your keyboard and mouse). You need to know all the classes, all the ins and outs of what classes are good at what. I'm not saying you should know absolutely everything like @Miskey but it'd be a good idea to get close.

Alright. You now know the game like your keyboard. Time to make a team, be one of them.

Well, you might want to do just that. If you're not too impatient, try joining a team. It doesn't matter which one, to be honest, though if you like how a certain team works, go for it. Your goal is to learn what teams are like. And make friends along the way. If you decide you're satisfied with just being on a team rather than making one, I'd advise you to stay. You'll learn more and be happier if you do.

Okay. You've decided Kippy Force or whoever you joined wasn't great for you, and neither are any other teams out there. You want to bring that little niche of your dream team to the table. Before even thinking about it, though, you want to make friends in the community; make sure a decent percentage of people who play the game know you. The second step should help with this, but if you think you need more reputation, start playing and talking more. Be "that" guy or "that" girl, instead of someone whose name looks familiar.

Alright. Like everyone knows you. Or you're a mod who skipped the third step. But either way, you have some sort of reputation, regardless of whether it's good or bad. You start thinking about recruiting.

This is easily the most important step, or at least the easiest to screw up. Recruiting can also take a long time. Usually, you should make a lot of friends and get to know people who don't have a team to join but want one. Sometimes, you'll be deemed worthy of Lady Luck's Grace, and be given a disbanding team to take advantage of. @LegitWebos6 or 5ive_Head did this with Six Flags, and the new team, Solar Eclipse, really went far. No matter what anyone tells you, doing this isn't cheaty or immoral. It's smart. If you can't do this, however, try to get ten people together, and the closer to the end of the month you can get them, the easier it'll be to become official.

Alright, so I guess I/you skipped a step, but the thought process is otherwise.

You need a way to be organized. This varies between teams, so try to think of something that works for you and your fellow players and soon-to-be teammates. The team I saw used a ranking system based on promotions. This is a very good idea, and is exceptional for longevity's sake. However, the way it was organized made it so they had a competitive, winning goal. This isn't a bad thing to have, but new recruits will have a hard time learning if they're never in an official match. And what'll you do when a top player drops out? You'll have to replace him with someone, hopefully someone good who's had time to learn. You also might want a Seasonal Member system, first (as far as I know) employed by 5ive_Head or @LegitWebos6. This means new members, when accepted, are the same status as mercenaries, but are in member chat. With time and proof of activity, they are made official full-time members. This gives you a small filter for who is dedicated enough to the team, and lets you test a variable that is hard to understand with a yes/no question. There are other types of organization you might want to look into, as well. For example, Frappuccino doesn't actually have a leader, only a representative who is able to pass on news and word from his or her teammates, and call for votes. This creates pure democracy in the team structure. Try to see what you can employ.

Now you have a team. You've got members. A team government. Everything you need, really. It's time to get into it.

This isn't really a step so much as some advice. Try to do what's best for your team. If you leave, appoint someone you trust as the leader, or disband if you think it's best. If you used Frappuccino's strategy, it should be easy to stay in the world of CTF unless everyone leaves at once. But no matter what, you should have fun and make sure your teammates do, too. Their opinions matter, so ask what they think, and make announcements about matches and ask about maps. And one day, you'll be a top contender in some randy casual tournament or something like that, so long as you and the rest of your team can learn.

I hope this helps some of you out there. Again, if anyone feels they should correct me or wants to make a better guide, go ahead, since I'm only making this guide in absence of not only a better one, but another one at all.

Make sure to like, comment, and scrubscribe.

I'm not sure if I actually created the SM thingy, I mean TFW had Trial Members for quite a while, but I guess I kinda had the idea of SM's as like a Inactive Members type thing. But I still don't know if I was necessarily the first.
