    :wink:A lot of people have been debating whether or not to keep instakills. Please vote above! I personally think some classes should not have instakills, others can, for example assassin because you can still block your sword to prevent the instakill. thx

    A reminder:
    Pyro can instakill anybody on fire except medics
    Assassin can instakill anybody who is not blocking
    Archer can instakill anybody from 30+ blocks away

    In my own personal belief, I think that instakills upset the balance of the game and don't allow for fun or fair gameplay in many situations.

    Without instakills, some of the classes wouldn't have a counter. My point is, instakills do have a purpose in the game, (right now) until they fix some of the overpowered "things" on some classes.

    Agreed, but only noobs need a class that climbs walls infinitely.

    Yeah but a class that climbs walls infinitely doesn't have the mobility to go horizontal, just vertical. And vertical can be countered :wink:)

    It can be countered by the two classes with the weakest armor ever. Not much of a counter.

    Soldier isn't the biggest deal, in the current game system if a soldier goes up, he has to come back down. If he doesn't come back down, he isn't moving forward. If he comes back down he's dead by pyro/ninja/assassin(ninja bugged anyways, lots of dmg).

    If he's still in the air its easy as hell to Archer shoot him.

    Tbh soldier isn't the biggest deal, but if a limit was imposed on how long he stays on a wall, that's fine

    It's totally fair for one class to be able to totally escape from a defense while every other one has to turn and fight.

    Well its fair in the sense that they have no choice but to run away. In 2012 when there were less of pyros etc, soldiers actually used to fight and THEN run away. But due to instakills and classes such as ninja that can glass cannon you and then enderpearl back in 2 seconds, there is no longer a choice, and soldiers have resorted to running.

    I think instakills provide an easy and fun gameplay for those who play them, but an unfair disadvantage for those who play against them. I am all for balanced instakills. However, balanced instakills would need to be hard to do and also have a viable counter, thus making the class pretty useless. I don't think it is possible to balance instakills, therefore I support the removal of instakills.

    Exactly. However, instakills have a purpose (albeit a frustrating one) as of now due to classes like soldier and chemist.

    Instakills are needed to structure CTF. They just need reworking to make some of them less overpowered.

    That thread was unspecific and misleading: instakills never will truly be balanced unless they are very hard to execute.

    Also to add, when they do decide to fight, they need a medic to be with them all the way. Thus making an unfair 2v1. *Note* They're are some soldiers that actually don't coward out of a 1v1 even with the flag.

    I think they should be removed honestly... I have been playing another ctf server that doesn't have them and its so much more fun in my opinion I just don't like there flag system. I think assassin is fine though they are easy to kill and almost every class can block them. I do think pyro should get changed they have good enough armor to fight for a while and can insta kill ever class except medic easily... archers are just plain annoying and i think they should be removed and heres why. Most archers just find a good spot and camp farming kills (and dont go oh it takes a lot of skill!) (It doesnt anyone can headshot but there can be skillful archers who are really good) they occasionally kill the flag holder. but other than that what is the point of archers? they just ruin 1v1's hardly ever capture and never pvp (in most cases they just run then turn spam a few arrows and run)
