End the Freeday Friday Rants.

i'd just like to point out the fact that you are saying they have "no legitimate reason" even tho you said "if it helps the community its fine with me". thats exactly the reason. it helps the community. many of the current regulars stayed here and didn't move on to another server because of freeday. its the same for me.

my conclusion is why the hell are we talking about freeday like this since it's just one day in the week and you don't have to play all the time. i thought these rants were over. dont fix what ain't broke

(also, didnt the monovox thing happen like, almost a 2 years ago? mcpvp lived through that easily. i dont think it had effect on the overall shutdown. budokkan killed us.)

The "experienced players" have been complaining about nearly every single thing when it comes to CTF. Not a problem with Free Friday, just how this community has always been.

Like above, just how this community always is. Might be more frequent due to larger amounts of people in one place.

What do you mean by better? and if hackers want to show themselves on the day where most of the mods are online...let them.

The needs of the many outnumber the needs of the few.

 

Here's a much simpler solution to your problem: how about people actually TRY to learn how to use free classes properly instead of using OP/cheap classes like Ninja, Pyro, Mage and Chemist on fridays? I mean, doesn't anyone know that Ninja and Chemist aren't the ONLY classes in the world that can kick butt?Free classes like Archer, Medic, Soldier and even Heavy can kick butt more than some premium classes. I personally don't think freeday in itself is a problem, I think how players use it is. Yes, all players, both new players who take advantage of freeday to play cheap and OP classes and the players that already have them. The players that already have them are, as we know, 75% of them are always playing stuff like Ninja and Pyro (no offense), so that makes an example to new players to try out classes like Ninja and Pyro more and more often, until every friday they're playing them non-stop when most of them don't even know how to use them properly and efficiently. So this is a request for both the freedayers and the class-owners to change: Class-owners, use free classes more often to give an example to freedayers so they use free classes more, thus decreasing the amount of people who get annoyed and increasing the feel that it's just another day in CTF. Freedayers and Class-owners, try maining free classes like Archer and Medic. You'll see that you've always been underestimating their power. Try them out for yourselves and see if they're truly powerful or not. Like that, Freedayers will know that they can try out premium classes, but they will also know that free classes aren't as underpowered as they think, and that there isn't that much of a reason to buy all the powerful premium classes as soon as physically possible. Let everybody know that there are more classes than just Ninja, Pyro, Mage and Chemist and let them know that every class is OP in it's own way. Take for example the great archers like @LordCh4os, @wintergreen3 and @Chimmichanga, who are somewhere in the top 50 on the leaderboards just because their good at what they found out that they were good at and rose to the top of the game by maining the class of their destiny, or @VN2004 and @PanDaniel_ who are exceptional Medics because they practised and got good, or @mynemachine or whoever it was that is one of the only good Heavies that isso good that he is recognized as a good Heavy by most of the community. There are plenty of what seems like not so powerful classes that in reality are OP when used right. If you want freedayers to just stop being freedayers, you all shall have to make them and contribute your part in it, nut just remember that the only reason they're annoying to you is because you basically teached them to do so. That is my honest oppinion from a player who's only premium class owned is Necro because of the xp system. I hope you learned something from that and start changing so you won't be bothered by freedayers and that you stop making gibberish about why freedayers are so annoying to you and why the staff should remove freeday and start seeing what's really making them so annoying. Deps out.

EDIT: tl;dr Start playing free classes more offen so the freedayers play them more offen and kjnow they exist and stop most of the hatred towards freeday.

 

I'm personally for free day. I think it's the best way for people to work out whether they want to buy a class or not, or just be able to use a class they can't usually use too. There are ways of handling the side effects: we can always make it every other friday instead of every friday, or we could dedicate a specific server to it. With that said it's important to consider that this is a good way to encourage people to actually buy the class, so I think it's important to keep.

That said, free classes are every bit as usable as the premium classes, and nobody should be put off

 

Honestly, free day is a wonderful thing. It gives people the opportunity to play classes that they don't have and potentially buy them. Or, if you were like me for a long time and you weren't allowed to buy the classes, free day was truley something to look forward to.

Besides, any regular that complains about free day is just looking for something to complain about. I honestly forget it's free day half the time. I just don't see a change in gameplay on Fridays.

I'm a supporter of free day, if you can't afford the classes/not allowed to buy them/want to buy them but are not farmiliar with them, then I don't see a downside to having some fun with the premium classes. Free day is nothing but benefits for both the server and the players.

How about put a limit to certain classes on free day.

 

Then we better make all the premium classes free with that logic.

 

You can't really complain much, they already took down the "Freeday Friday" to just "Freeday limited hours cause too much people complained"
But yet again, the ctf community is built upon nothing but complaints.

So you're telling us...to stop playing classes we enjoy...because noobs look up to us. That makes no sense. If the freedayers like the class, they play it, it has nothing to do with what thy see.

 

I'll give you some sleeping pills if you can prove 6 enemy engineer turrets camping in front of the team's spawn I'm on 'doesn't affect me in any way'

 

Aww, muffin, somebody in a video game is killing you.
Don't play friday. BOOM. Problem solved. It really is that easy, you've got 6 1/2 days, and they've got friday from dawn to dusk. If those couple hours weekly honestly affect you in a serious way you're too involved in the game.
Besides, if you're not having fun and you choose to stay in the game, that's your problem. Making everyone else change because you're not happy is literally the definition of selfish.

Oh, and I can't prove it doesn't affect you. YOU have to prove it affects you. Give me evidence that a couple hours of not playing CTF damages you in some way. Then I'll give YOU some sleeping pills.

Please explain to me exactly why you've got such a vehement distaste for freeday.
And if the best you can come up with is a reason that only pertains to you, such as 'I can't cap' or 'I die a lot', and you CANNOT justify these complaints, I will dismiss your venomous tone as arrogance and nothing more.
