    So I recently decided to look up 1.9 snapshots since I haven't looked at them in a while, and I came across this video:



    This could largely affect how PvP games are made now. You could retexture the same items just with different effects. I don't know about you guys, but I think retexturing of armor, weapons, etc. for CTF would be pretty awesome. What do you guys think about it?

    Amazing!,
    Like Nom can code that some items have less durability but unbreakable, he posts that on some kind of thread makes is sticky, and people can make their own ctf pack!

    I think retexturing armor has been possible already (I saw it on some servers @mynemachine for example will know quite well).. In case that's something we want before 1.9 ^-^

    It's 100% possible to re textures anything in minecraft as of now.

    No, he means that you can retexture items based on their durability, so you can have 2 diamond swords textured differently ._.

    But this was already possible though =/ You can manipulate items using Attribute NBT Commands. So you can have a retextured diamond shovel have the same attack damage as a retextured diamond sword. And that's one of the things Attributes can do. Hardly any change in the video. Silly click bait.

    Silly people, you can have multiple textures with the NBT score, not like there was b4, one texture..

    You do realize 1.9 will get rid of jitter clicking and will simply have a strength bar that will charge up after a hit.

    You do realize 1.9 gives the feature to change the speed of weapons which is great? You can change the speed of weapons with NBT data :wink:

    This could implement a cool cosmetic system into CTF, where you could get retextured swords through playing the game or buying them ($). Maybe have these swords have custom names, and if you get laike a full set (all the items including armor), then you get some particle effect. That would be pretty sweet.

    Why not? I for one think it would be cool to see people running around with a bunch of different weapons. YOu could always change yur own pack too see everyone elses. Even doe I do see yur point, Nom could just change the NBT data of everything. Does this work for armor too?

    I'm glad Minecraft gets rid of jitterclicking. Also, todays' snapshot showed another sword buff. The charge up time isn't really long, somewhat half a second. Jitterclicking in unfair, pvp shouldn't depend on who can click faster.

    That's because I don't want to click like a total retard in order to make some kills. Why should I care about the future pvp-loss of jitterclickers, while they are a minority in the first place? With this update pvp doesn't depend upon the ability to click fast anymore, I can finally enjoy HG again! :grinning:
