Below are the standard rules mandatory in each match. More rules may be added when organising a match, but the following are compulsory.

    1. Dwarf and Engineer are disabled.
    • These classes are not currently seen as fit for official matches.
    2. No abusing glitches
    • Block glitching, item glitching and abuse of anything that is clearly not intentional is included under here.
    • Pearling out of a Mage's ice spell as ninja is considered a glitch.
    3. No item respawn abuse
    • Respawning for assassinate as Assassin is considered respawn abuse.
    • Respawning for arrows as elf is considered respawn abuse.
    • Quickly switching between two classes to execute either of the above is also considered respawn abuse.
    4. No obstructing spawn (Medic webs, Mage freeze spell, Elf earth and wind element).
    • Blocking spawn with Medic webs is considered to be spawn obstruction.
    • Freezing players in spawn as Mage is considered to be spawn obstruction.
    • Rooting players in spawn with Elf's earth element is considered to be spawn obstruction.
    • Moving players in spawn with Elf's wins element is considered to be spawn obstruction.
    5. No excessive ranged spam (flint, spell, flash bombs, arrows, etc.).
    • Mage spell spam - Continuous spell fire down a tunnel that would present a gameplay issue (2x1 tunnel or special cases), or continuous spell fire at the flagpost will be considered spell spam. Spell spam also applies when you are excessively using spells with no visible player in the area.
    • Elf element spam - Continuous earth element usage within a few blocks of you (again, generally trying to kill ninjas or limit mobility around yourself), or down a tunnel that presents a gameplay issue is considered element spam.
    • Archer arrow spam - Arrow being shot rapidly down/into a condensed area that presents a gameplay issue is considered arrow spam. An example would be the stairway up to spawn on Skyworlds I.
    • Medic web spam - Around 3-4 webs in a throw consecutively in a condensed area may be grounds for a call.
    • Ninja egg spam - Around 4-5 eggs thrown consecutively may be grounds for a call.
    6. No medic teaming
    • Medic teaming is considered healing another Medic in combat. Note that a restore does not have to occur for it to be considered Medic teaming.
    7. Uphold good sportsmanship
    • General common sense. Uphold brawl chat rules and you should be good to go!
    8. Any spectators in a match may not message the players anything associated with the gameplay.
    • Self explanatory. As a spectator you may not assist either team in any way.

Match types can be found here.

Have fun and good luck! :stuck_out_tongue:

That's a bit depressing, what if we wanted an entire game with everyone using dwarf!

It's a glitch. When wool was used, it would cause the flag to fall off the flagpole, making it impossible to steal. Now, it just looks bad.

Hey guys, just going to clarify a couple things that have come up in matches recently:

    - A number of players have asked for clarification on the difference between "premature pearling" and "ghosting / ghost capping" when listed as match rules. Premature pearling is a broad term that applies to any situation where a ninja attempting to steal the flag throws a pearl before the flag is in his/her inventory. Ghosting refers to a kind of premature pearling where the ninja in question throws a pearl before they reach the flagpole. Having "no premature pearling" as a rule naturally bans ghosting as well, while having "no ghosting" as a rule does not ban premature pearling if the ninja is already at the flag.

    - Throwing snowballs so that the cobwebs they generate overlap the flag/banner is considered a glitch (which will be dealt with in the near future), and is thus banned under the mandatory match rules.

    - The "spell" spam referenced in mandatory match rules applies to situations where a mage is firing a continous stream of damage spells (longer than 2-3 seconds) at their team's flag, particularly when no players on the other team are visible. It does not apply to a mage firing the occasional shot or two to check for ninjas, or any other situations where a mage is using spells.

    - The "flag burning" referenced in the mandatory match rules is an old glitch that's no longer possible, so no need to worry there.

Hope that helps clear things up, and feel free to reply if you have any further questions.

Falls under glitches, as maps are supposed to have coal ore underneath them. Will be treated as such from now on.

    1. Dwarf, Necro and Engineer are disabled.

Regarding this rule, shouldn't it generally be up to the leaders of the teams participating? I know this has been a rule for a while, but I find it rather odd to standardize certain classes not being allowed. Limits I'm completely okay with, but removing entire classes/play styles from matches by default seems a bit overkill.
