My main job is to watch the chat, seeing as how I don't have the perms to ban hackers. The past 3 days, I haven't seen much flaming when I've played. I've seen just the average amount of rage that occurs every day. Nothing too excessive, nothing out of hand.

If we add chat mods, what is a JMod supposed to do? A JMod's main job is chat moderation. Is it really necessary to add in just another form of JMod? If you're being bothered by someone raging/flaming, just /ignore or close the chat. Simple fix.

Note* Mods are not on all the time to control the chat.* This is why /mute from mcpvp could come back in handy. Honestly, who wants to hear a child spam nonsense in chat. Many may know who I'm mostly talking about. Yes, you can always turn off chat, but you need it on to pay attention to who needs help, how can you help them, and/or just to have a good time with your fellow comrades.

tbh i liked mcpvp more where you could capslock and swear all you wanted and the only ones keeping it in control were humans

Honestly, most of these problems wouldn't be around if some of you just stop getting irritated at the smallest things. I've seen actual flame come out of someone just stating that a certain map looked pretty. Come on guys, not everything has to be a debate.

My bad, that's a valid point. Arguments I suppose is a better word to use. Or aggressive negotiations (star wars reference for @obikenobi21).

I flame a bit when I am trying to cap and if there's a 1-shotting dwarf or about 4 assassins, at least 1 of which is a good assassin/has very low ping. That's the point when you have to have at least 2 other people go with you to help kill them. So, you've taken the flag and you're on your way out; only if you manage to dodge the archer that's busy bowspamming you from over 30 blocks away. Right, he's been killed. Great. Watch out! All the assassins that just died are on me again and are trying to kill me. My teammates have been headshotted and can't help me out. The archer from before jumps out of spawn and shoots at me. I unblock my sword in order to strafe sideways and dodge the shot and then block it again. Half a second later, the assassin hits me and I get killed. Then my teammate picks it up and everyone types /gj in chat. He runs around and I block a headshot. Things are going really well. Just before he gets to the flagroom, 2 of the assassins drop from the roof and are killed by my teammate who has 9 ms. He then gets headshotted by that 'brawl randy' archer and an invisible ninja picks it up.

^ that's when I rage. Or when I try to get into the flagroom and I'm confronted by 3/4 of the other team's players. The rest of them are archers that are desperate to get on the top spot of that leaderboard or offensive pyros that flintspam you and once they've killed you say "HAhA REKT XDXFdxD" in chat afterwards.

This is why people quit. This is why we desperately need reworks.

CTF already has the most staff dedicated to the gamemode, as per: https://www.brawl.com/server-specific/list. If there's a user continuously flaming whilst staff are offline, get appropriate evidence and use report.brawl.com

thank you for your helpful reply @Doges you repeated what about eight people had said before you. still, there is flaming going on. by different people, and not every evening so it'd be worth using the report link you put there.
i am glad we have staff though they help us so much :--)) thank you brawl and thank you doges

It may be the most out of any gamemode, but its not enough considering there's still plenty of flame going on.

There was way too many times when I was in a game and no staff member was playing. I understand that you can't get a mod on every server at every single time of the day, but when I was active on Brawl I could go a couple days without seeing mods in-game.

Seriously, y'all need to discover the wonders of /ignore.

You guys all want other people to do for you temporarily and constantly what a couple seconds will do for you permanently and with no active monitoring.

Do you guys really need to be babysat that badly?

This is why I'm in favor of replacing the mods with a permanent Mom bot armed with auto mute :stuck_out_tongue:

I think a thing many people forgot when they replied was that it's probably not only us, the community who knows CTF being annoyed by flame and stuff. There are also 'random' people which aren't used to CTF, which are new to this game and are slightly disgusted by the things written in chat. The thing is, we, the regulars, actually know how to type /ignore. We know the commands, we know that the flame is only temporary. But they, the so-called 'randoms', they don't. Do they know that they have an /ignore command? Probably not. They have to either turn off the chat completely which is honestly a bad idea since there are sometimes some useful messages in chat.
Even we, as the ones who know how to use /ignore might not use it. Why? I almost never used it on flamers. I only used it on spammers (those who just join the server to spam IP's). Because the flaming people stop and you never know if you're in a team with them one day when you actually have to communicate and stuff. I don't want to miss the /m Medic! or sth else of someone I ignored.

Sure, the problem with this suggestion is that JMods would be kinda obsolete, and I'm sure no-one wants that.
But, as stated previously, there could be Chat Mods only for the chat, not for more, not with the option the JMods have to become a 'real' Mod.
Even if there were lower requirements to get 'Chat Mod', I don't think there would be much more abuse than the abuse of Jmod or Mod...

TL;DR: Don't forget the 'randoms'. It's not really necessary but it would be 'nice to have' (I mean I didn't play much in the last two weeks, but geez the amount of unnecessary flame...)

CTF definitely has enough US mods but maybe not enough EU mods, even though @Nohox is extremely active. I'm usually on in the EU afternoon, so feel free to report flamers directly to me via Skype if nobody is answering /report.
