I've had some good times here. Brawl (mainly MC-War) supplied me with much needed joy during various hardships I've gone through, and I've met people who I'll be in contact with for a very long time.

August 2013 - I joined War. At that time, minecraft at my age was still considered 'cool' and I didn't think anything of it. That changed.

~Before I continue with my story, I'll get into why I got addicted. December 2013, I qualified for 1600m state championships. Long story short, I blew out my knee before championships. The tendon that connects the thigh to the calf was tearing, and everything I had worked for was gone. I could only run on 30% of my body weight, and my thighs still spasm randomly today. Had I not been injured, I would have won state by a longshot, and to this day it haunts me. I was on and off physical therapy for 2 straight years - the years I played brawl.~

Around 6 months in I became addicted... literally. It got to the point where I shut out a lot of my friends and family just to play, and for no other reason than to get kills. To this day my parents won't let me forget those two years I spent here.

The various outros I made in the past were my attempt to escape and regain the life I lost. None of them worked. I played and played until my eyes couldn't take it. It was therapy for me. I remember questioning myself, "Why am I doing this?", but I never had an answer. It was an endless cycle.

Fast forward a bit, around August 2015 I finally was able to not play brawl daily. My knee was getting better, and I was training again. Running started to occupy my "Brawl time" without me realizing it.

As much as I deny it, Brawl was a huge part of my life. So thank you, staff & community, for easing my pain.

I'll respond to comments on this thread, but after that, I'll be on my way. Chances are if we were friends I have your skype.

@Plopped - Nobody can rival the memories we had. I never told you about most of this stuff, but you got me through a lot of it. Thank you.

@Gynamo @jakob112 @SheWasOnly12 @SuperBen4 - DawZ, that was during one of the hardest times of my recovery. It's hard to find people like you (rip munkey)

@randomcitizen1 - Also during that hard patch of time. Those 1v1s are unforgettable, I miss those days.

@Striker_Sly @WaffleMan72 @_19 - INC was my last competitive clan, and the last place I was able to make good friends. All three of you were awesome guys to hang out with in skype.

If I didn't list you, there's a good chance we haven't spoken in a while. These people were just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Good luck in the real world. I would say to come back when War 2.0 comes out but I'm afraid that you will just get even more addicted then before.

Wow, bro this was a really interesting back story. Best of luck in your recovery, training, and future.

Also, I think the addiction must have been difficult to overcome in and of itself.

I'm going to write a piece on work/school/life balance, including addiction. I think others grapple with the same feelings, situation, & could use help.

I enjoyed playing with you when we teamed up.

Thanks for being so forthcoming about the addiction and the effects it had on your personal life.

I think brawl should be in this video.

My bro had a similar experience, but he almost died. I hope you get well, at least so you can run well.

Well, I will play to get to lvl 100 and 100k kills. You better be on so I can kill you for my 100k
