CTF... Ruined?

    It's almost like people have different opinions.

    Personally, I like balanced games. If a game is balanced, it feels like you win because you were better, not because you had the overpowered class. And if I lose, it's because I got outplayed.

    We don't necessarily need a perfectly balanced game (that would be almost impossible to do), but what we do need is a team-based pvp flag capping experience, where every class is useful and no class stands out as being able to completely outclass everything else.

    Look at a game like TF2. 9 classes with different abilities, team-based combat with objectives, lots of fun. Sounds pretty similar to CTF, eh? Anyway, in TF2, some classes are considered more powerful than others, especially in certain gamemodes or formats. The Demoman deals so much damage. The Scout is so good at Cleaning up enemies who are weak because they took so much damage from the Demoman. The Medic is amazing at keeping everyone alive, and the Soldier is super mobile. These classes are usually considered more mobile, more versatile, more powerful than other classes, but yet after almost 9 years thousands of people still play it. The thing is: Yes, some classes are more useful than others, but this actually meshes into the game very nicely. Demoman deals a ton of damage, but can't reliable hit fast targets since he only used projectiles. The team has to protect their Demoman and make sure he doesn't die, and they'll be rewarded with tons of damage.

    CTF doesn't have as much of that factor. Some classes, like Pyro and Chemist, were so good at their job that they didn't necessarily need their team to really support them. A Medic helps them not die, but to be fair, a Medic paired with any class usually was pretty good.

    We don't need balance to make each class exactly as good as every other; we need balance so people have to work together to play the objectives.

    Maybe you don't care about balance. Maybe you want to play the one-man-defense Pyro. If you really want everything to stay the same, then what can I do? That's your opinion. But overall, for the sake of the overall quality of the game, balance, at least to a certain degree, is extremely important for fun, fair matches.

    Capture The Flag isn't ruined. And it won't die. Brawl is smart, they bought CTF for a reason. It was going to make money. They didn't buy it to crumple and fall apart. They have a good staff and good community server going. Just wait, you'll see.

    you know what makes you even more skilled? is when you beat an op class. Heck, i have beaten dwarves heavies single handedly with ninja, it doesnt matter if the games unbalanced or not, if you are skilled you can kill any op class

    That doesn't change the fact that they're unbalanced. Yes, you can kill a Dwarf with Ninja, yes, you can do anything if you're good enough. But why wouldn't you want the game to be balanced?

    In a pure skill environment, OP classes still win. The best Dwarf will beat the best Ninja, even if the best Ninja can beat a bad Dwarf. Being able to kill certain classes doesn't mean anything about balance. It just means that you're good or the enemy is bad at the game.

    They don't put giant walls in front of contestants during the 100m sprint just because "if you're good enough you can still win". Just because you can beat an OP class as a UP class doesn't mean the OP class doesn't need a rework.

    Personally, pre-nerf I could often kill Pyros in flagrooms (definitely not 100% of course, but sometimes) and escape with the flag, but that doesn't mean the class was fair.

    Games are more fun for everyone when things are balanced. You don't need to make it so every class is just as good as the other one, but it should be reasonable enough so that you don't get players who are carrying a game simply because of their class.

    Yes but making it all balanced with a dozen classes that do different things and have special abilities is almost impossible. Sometimes, having it unbalanced Is good

    You have to be a little charitable. You should be thankful that Brawl bot CTF because some ****ty Brazilian server couldve bot it and hosted it in Brazil. Just be patient. I guarantee they are doing a better job then you could ever do.
