Idea Archer Rework

    So as you all know, archer right now is a class that really just relies on one-shotting people in order to accomplish its task... which is... ok so archer doesn't have a task... it just... one-shots... and this annoys people. So instead of this archer class that is really nothing, I say we make it work to be something.

    The archer class would keep the same bow, remove the one-shot passive and add in the new mechanics that I will explain here in a bit. My rework would involve two different abilities for the archer, both of them grappling hooks of sort. So the first grappling hook (your redstone dust) would allow you to hit a player, even an ally, and pull them toward you. This serves two purposes, to help a flag carrier or another player who needs saving and to catch someone who might be running away with your own flag. This would give archer a pretty well balanced skill cap that people could rely on for supporting the defense or the attack. The second skill (your sugar) would be used to launch yourself toward another player. This could be used to cap and catch an enemy FC as well. With both of these skills and archer's Punch II bow, archer would be more than viable, would have a good skill set that could be used in various scenarios, and would get rid of that ridiculous one-shot.

    Like most classes, the purpose of archer is to gain map control.
    However is rendered useless in areas that have more cover, or rough terrain.

    The way you're changing it here just removes the purpose of archer- also take note that the headshot passive only works if you're a good distance away from someone.

    I can see that archer supposed role is to gain control of the map, which can be done in my rework without the use of instakill mechanics in the game and I'm fully aware that it takes a deal of distance to be able to one-shot but what my rework achieves compared to where archer currently falls short is the dynamic playstyle. Archers currently find a sweet spot to shoot from, they just stay there. Say they get killed by an assassin that was fed up with them or something, then they go back to that same spot and continue the playstyle. I'm not saying anything against archers who do this, I'm just saying that this is what archer's abilities allow for currently, a boring, predictable, and overall static style of gameplay. The rework I proposed does something entirely different, giving archer a dynamic role and a playstyle that can be used in more than just finding a place that's hard to get to and shooting from it.

    What about making something more campy? archer isn´t the best class to cap or to support the flag carrier. I´ve played a lot of Vindictus recently (Free2Play mmorpg)where as an archer you can put 1 hook in the ground and by using the second one you can grapple yourself back to the hook you placed at first, so that you can dodge any1 willing to kill you. This would keep the archer a more range/camp class.

    You've changed the purpose of archer. It's still counterable short range, but it's lost it's potency long range. The grappling hooks will make it easier to catch people, but all you do is bring the archer short range where it can fundamentally be beaten in combat short range. Think about it this way, you grapple a heavy, bringing it closer to you. The only thing you do is get the heavy closer to you, where the heavy can actually deal damage! The main role of archer is lost with your rework, as it is a killing class, and fundamentally it's not able to perform that to a decent standard with this. Furthermore, archer is a free class, which is designed to be simple. What you've done here is make a rework for the class unnecessarily complex. It's an interesting idea, but one which loses the intended role of archer and makes the class weaker than it should be
