Well, buddy, you've just joined the Syringe roast club along with sportyman.
Sure, this isn't a staff application but it's a guide to get there. Anyway a, my point still stands:
How can you talk about being mature when you've never been it yourself? That's like writing a book on how to be a physicist specializing in string theory when you're a third grader who just figured out how to multiply numbers. And kid, don't ask me if I've been here lately. As @MrWaffleman has noted, I've been on brawl only since May and I'm already a higher level than him on war, and I don't even play that often. I've made gamemode maps. I've been all over the forums. I make dope resource packs. I help people. What do you do? In fact, by doing this I think I get closer to staff than you ever will (assuming you don't have an epiphany or a stroke and change your behavior).
Again, going back to my physics analogy, fine, write the book, but prepare for people to laugh at you. If you get upset about this, prepare for them to laugh harder because you're so far out of your league, it's funny.
Dont call me a wannabe, by the way, because based on what I've seen of you, you should want to be me.

 

That won't be too useeful because getting mod is not as easy as you think.

This guide was meant to provide mod applicants insight into turkey's view. He made this guide with the best of intent and really wanted to give others his insight.

Don't roast him on what he did, how he acted, or even how many times he applied.

Being a mod isn't for everyone and this guide was made to help others.

He kind of asked for this roasting after the way that he replied to some of the feedback that he received. Time and time again he has proved to be immature and nothing more than a nuisance and now people are pointing that out. Nothing wrong with that. We are telling him that if he is gonna preach something then he needs to practice it, otherwise it's like a politician saying "we need to eat healthier" and then being seen at an all you an eat fast food buffet.

 

You actually did it! Nice! No matter what others say, I still think you are a good person. Hope you apply in the future.

OP wasn't half bad. I liked it. For the people who would completely discredit the thread as a whole due to the comments that came afterwards or his overall history, the OP is actually somewhat accurate. :V

^Tru. That is usually how things start. Don't be an irritating idiot about it though, and don't be pushy. If people don't listen, take @Nezzr's advice and use the chat report thing.

I don't know if I would try to stop people from noob-calling, but maybe that's just me.

^Tru. If you have the time (and the mind), you could try talking to them in a friendly manner via PM. Don't debate with them, but sometimes, it's nice to get inside their heads.

^Tru to an extent. There are more ways than one to find out what people think about you. :V Don't ask people directly if they think you are ready, but definitely test the waters. If you are going to have a good chance at getting mod, ideally people will have already approached you and said you would make a good mod. If you need more confirmation, find out what people think about you in other ways that don't scream "Am I ready for mod?" :V I was really subtle and did this. V: Maybe post an AMA or something. :V

Don't know what it's like to get tons of hate for applying. If a ton of people give you hate, maybe you should look at yourself. It's often obvious when somebody is being an idiot, but if many people have a negative opinion of you, maybe you should look at yourself and see what you can do to change that...

If you want people to see the value in what you say, you should not be so defensive. There is some good value in this thread.

How to make a thread about how to get mod:

Step 1: First actually GET MOD
If you have an IQ of 50+ then you will know the rest

or

Ignore everything about being a mod and work for $240 so you can buy Lifetime Elite if you care that much

Nobody actually wants to be a mod, it's just the rank that counts

So, if your mental age is at least half your physical age.

Let me get this straight here.
-Someone who failed to get moderator status multiple times makes a guide on how to become mod
-Tells people in guide to avoid starting flame, starts flame in comments thread
-Fights with multiple people in comments over his activity in game, when this doesn't actually matter toward the moderator guide the discussion was supposed to be on
-Claims he no longer no-life/tryhards Mc-war, is well over 100+, uses donator weapons consistently to farm infect/keep up kdr, is still highly active (hours in sessions, sessions at least every other day)
I could go on. The moral of this story is: don't post threads you don't know anything about, and especially don't contradict yourself/lie about yourself because it damages your reputation further.
To be honest I'm surprised this thread got posted in the first place, we already have so many well written moderator guides, one by someone who went through all of the ranks (basically), lord_roke. Not to mention others by other excellent mods.

 

These tips are turkeywing's personal opinion, you do not have to agree with them. But if you disagree, attack the tips rather than the person and discuss it maturely and reasonable.
