    Hey,

just some fun here c: really, the title says it all. In any way - what were your McPvP pets, do you know any players with animals in their name, do you associate an animal with a player, whatever! ^^

I for example would like to point out wumba @AdamLovesBarca official merc of sn tm, of course our beloved forums watchdog @Lord_Roke and le panda of course, @PanDaniel_!

Oh the title made me think of that red sheep named 'xubi smells' attached to the flagpost on one of the maps.

    Thanks for the mention, @pookeythekid
Time to show off. Here's a little gallery:

    1. We catch birds with so called Heligoland Traps, large traps that look a bit like a hopper that we chase the birds into. This is what the traps look like on a busy migration day in October, when the birds are on their ways to the wintering grounds.
    2. Blackbirds are the most common bird species we catch. This one has a colour anomaly as there are some irregular white feathers. You can also see the ring we attached. Every ring has a unique number code by which the bird can be identified and its data can be obtained. If you ever find a bird with a ring, please notify the ringing central engraved in the ring.
    3. We also take some data about every bird that gets a ring. We take wing measurements, weight, body condition scores, age and sex. The age of robins can be assessed by looking at the wing coverts. If they have the buff-coloured tips you can see in the picture the bird is younger than a year.
    4. Honorable mention to the bird in my signature.
    5. Here you can see an example for sexual dimorphism in a trickier form. Male blue tits have generally deeper blue parts and a wider blue neck stripe than females.
    6. A redpoll. Included because beautiful.
    7. Yellow-browed warblers are kinda rare where I live as their breeding region is Siberia.
    8. The smallest european bird, a goldcrest. Weighs about 5-7 g.
    9. Long-tailed tits aren't actually tits, nevertheless one of my many favourites. They always fly around in flocks, so if you catch one, the others are usually caught soon afterwards.
    10. Of course we catch some other birds too, not just tiny songbirds. Here's a sanderling.
    11. A female teal. Males look entirely different, no problem determining the sex, as is the case with every duck species.
    12. A short-eared owl. Probably my favourite catch, together with the long-eared owl. Caught with a mist net and fake mouse sounds.
    13. A merlin, a species of falcons. @Mhrrrlin (sorry, I couldn't resist).
    14. A northern gannet. This one was found on the beach with a fishhook through the foot. It was unable to take off as they can only start from high places or against the wind. Of course we removed the fishhook. The bird is alive and doing well, three months after the incident.
    15. Who can tell me what species this is? The Americans and Australians will be at a disadvantage here as it is a eurasian bird. It can make your fingers bleed by the way.

    Oh helo there
Surprisingly, Merlin is actually the name of my bird :stuck_out_tongue: he's a cockatiel (11 year old me naming my account after a pet xD). However he's known by the ctf community as the rape whistle because he screams in the background of calls x3

Awesome! I love birds. My favorite is a Blue Jay (I live in the US).

I just realized the shirt I'm wearing has birds on it.
