Tbh soldier hasn't changed much imo with the pyro nerf it cancels it out way more than it needs to. Even without the pyro nerf soldier is still pretty good, now it's really about your resourcefulness with the wall climbs unless you are LUGIA who just vibrates her right click on the wall

 

I'm sure you will play again once your period goes away or you get the sand out of your lady parts. The mcpvp joke was pretty terrible in the sense where it was not funny and could have been taken seriously by anyone with and IQ above 12. But if it offends you then I can't even take you as seriously as the people who believed it. If you hear "mcpvp" or "wool" do you just bawl your eyes out over the freaking "Glory days" you need to get over the past of minecraft server which was shut down for a reason and not cry about the past. On note of the soldier nerf, despite the mana on the wall climb it still resides as the most effective and powerful offensive class on ctf which cant even be argued heavily (besides against ninja in some cases)

Just to clarify, the moderators that have been apart of CTF for a while are the people who nerf the classes.

The big bad "Brawl" entity hasn't actually participated in creating reworks, with the only notable statement being the removal of instakills.

I sure do love scapegoating.

Oh great.. A joke turned into a huge argument

 

I really miss the good old Minecraft player versus player days with the homies. I used to love to capture the flag when it was wool, but now, now, it makes me cry. Why can't we just go back to the G L O R Y D A Y S??? When you could bring the flag in spawn, place turrets next to each other, infinitely heal as medic, and most importantly, not have banners??? Am I right???

Personally I found the joke quite funny, but that's because of my dark sense of humour. My point is this joke was always going to offend at least someone because of the very nature of the joke itself. CTFers wanted some of these changes to legitimately happen such as returning to wool. The staff making a joke about doing so was pretty obviously going to be a huge middle finger in the face to them, effectively dangling it in front of them as an april fools joke. I get the staff didn't mean it in such a way. I get that it was a stupid joke for the fun of it. Like I said I found it funny. The problem is, when you make a joke like this you have to be willing to take the consequences and risks associated with it. In this case, the risk was that there was a high chance for an argument to be caused, and unfortunately that's what happened.

I don't believe personally in "the big bad brawl network". I don't think I need to remind anyone here that without brawl, our CTF community wouldn't have this CTF server system to play on. Mcpvp would have gone fully bankrupt and the server would have completely shut down. That's not an argument, without brawl, we wouldn't be sat here on the forums typing out arguments about this joke. With that said, I believe that brawl is responsible for what has happened here. THEY have decided to make this joke, and whilst some people have decided it's funny, others haven't. It is their responsibility of what's happened because they've made this joke. In this case, there isn't a scapegoat for it, this is what the staff of brawl have decided to do, and now they'll have to take the consequences of that joke. It's all very well you saying you shouldn't take a joke too serious, but equally some could argue the line between joke and offensive just got crossed, and that is absolutely subjective.

I might argue with you here that whilst the economic side of the server was a business failure, that doesn't mean that brawl knows any more about gameplay that mcpvp did. If anything, brawl knows less about it because it has less experience than mcpvp in the gamemode. There are still hundreds, if not thousands of brawl players whom have never played and mcpvp game mode. If you need any more evidence, pretty much every mod on the ctf servers are from the mcpvp community. That tells you a hell of a lot about how much brawl players know about the ctf gamemode, given they're accepting members of our own community to run it for us. Just because something isn't balanced, doesn't mean it isn't successful. In the past it was even more unbalanced and a commercial success (hence why balancing and reworks took place on mcpvp, not just on brawl).

@Sonicluke2000 this is an unbelievably naive post to write. If you don't have the experience in the game mode, there is absolutely no justification for you to use to back up that statement. You don't know at all how balance in the gamemode works if you don't have experience in the classes available. This is ESPECIALLY the case since I've just looked up your stats, looking at this:

This shows you haven't got a single minute of gametime on ctf, proving that not only are you inexperienced with the gamemode, but you know pretty much nothing about it. There is absolutely no way you could know about what is balanced, and what isn't. This proves what you are trying to say is utter rubbish, you have no real clue whether brawl has done a good job or not. I think if you want to say something about that, then you probably should play the game and see what it's like. Congratulations on your high number of war kills, but that means absolutely nothing in terms of ctf knowledge.

Absolutely, I agree 100%. The thing is, people from mcpvp on ctf believe brawl is doing a bad job, and they're not giving them the chance they perhaps should receive to fix the problems available. I think it's wrong, but realistically the only way brawl's going to be given a chance is if they can work in such a way as to please the mcpvpers whilst doing it in their own way which fullfills their own wishes too. That goes for the majority not just the few. That's an incredibly hard thing to do (but as @Sonicluke2000 believes apparently brawl is absolutely fantastic with no flaws and so it should have absolutely no trouble in that, now should it?)

@4aurelius This is a rather naive post to write as well. This is equally as subjective as the post you were commenting on. Sure, I agree, some brawl staff can be kind. That doesn't mean all are. It certainly also doesn't mean that this was a good joke (I think it was, it's subjective). Trying to change the mind? firstly I don't think they were on your side to begin with, and perhaps more importantly that's trying to kill opposition to brawl, which has the right to exist. Your opinion is positive, but not necessarily agreed with.

In short, yeah, guys, it was a joke, we shouldn't take it seriously, and if you are offended then I think brawl probably should apologise for that. I think the lesson here was pretty nicely summed up by @Shawn_ already:

Oh, and for the record, as part of the joke, you went for wool, you should have seen this backlash coming from a mile off. You have pretty much just unleashed all hell upon this server

Not much of a forums guy, but after reading this I couldn't help myself. Personally I feel like anyone who is getting butt hurt over this april fools joke cares a bit too much about a server. CTF isn't the same as it was on MCPVP, but thats okay. I mean, you guys couldn't possibly of expected it to not change? People need to be more accepting of what brawl is trying to do. People that never played MCPVP don't know what it was like, they have something called an "open mind" (You guys should try and buy one, they're pretty useful). You guys realize brawl could just say **** CTF and throw it on someone else or completely get rid of it? If the profits ever got low again like on MCPVP, boom, you would all be without CTF. And to all those people acting like the MCPVP players are some elite ****... Its time for a reality check baby because in brawl's eyes, you are no different from a random guy hopping on CTF for this first time in his life.

tl;dr - Brawl is in control, the players have the right to request/hate on changes, but in the end you can't do **** about it so just move on to bigger and better things.

What wound? They ****ing bought and saved the server. Hell, you may not like some of the changes that they make, but they, at the very least, bother to update the server with some progressive change as opposed to leaving it abandoned to rot as MCPvP did.

I see most of their additions/reworks as more progressive and in the right direction (with a long way to go though!) than anything else personally. That, plus, there doesn't seem to be any long-lasting backlash against what Brawl is changing (other than wool, but I believe that is more due to the buggy nature of banners other than just being elitist ****s who just want wool because it was like that in MCPvP. If banners were to be bug fixed, they would likely be better than wool) quite honestly. In fact, I'd even go to say that the community is adapting to and appreciating the changes quite quickly.

I am quite critical of Brawl myself and yet I am incapable of finding such examples of phrases coming from the mouths of the Brawl staff. I believe it would be best if you could back up with what you were saying with perhaps screenshots or links. Otherwise, I or anyone else cannot take what you are saying with any sort of seriousness. Right now, it just sounds to me that you are quoting what you think Brawl thinks of you/us.

Hating everyone in Brawl who isn't an MCPvPer? That just seems wildly unreasonable, and hell, even blatantly biased.

You're asking them to swallow their pride right after stating that you "hate brawl" and "everyone in brawl?" It would also be considerate of you to start showing some decency to the players who are now part of our community (Brawlers) instead of just hating them just because they happen to be in and/or part of Brawl.

Bye, I guess. I believe we would be better off without someone with your character. I mean, who gets all upset and whiny over a ****ing April Fools joke? Personally, I would appreciate it if you didn't come back to spew anymore of your nonsense.

This is definitely true if you ignore some lag issues and occasional buggy flag mechanics.
