Brawl is b4d, mcpvp was slightly better but i can definetly agree that ctf has gotton much worse (altho i still love it) since brawl bought it. Im all for a match frankly cuz
A. EZ win and to show brawl that mcpvp players are better
B. To find out who the "Brawl Ctfers" are cuz idrk any cuz all the name changes and me being afk untill October

Okay, so you're saying that Chaploo, a veteran CTFer and even a mapmaker, shouldn't have bought CTF? That he should've left it to die? And you're saying that Brawl ruined CTF, even though it comes out with updates as regularly as MCPVP did on a much larger server network? Because that sounds really ungrateful, and really selfish.

To everyone who says that Brawl ruined CTF: yes, Brawl has its flaws, but holy crap did MCPVP have them too. It's been nearly a year, I can't believe we're still having this argument.

 

CTF was in a death sprial in which they were bailed out by a benevolent Brawl group.

Would you have rather the server you love just went out of business?

Before you critize the situation, I would recomend looking at the whole picture that includes:
- Financials
- Player volumes
- Potential loss of server due to it going out of business

While things may not be perfert (rarely are they ever) during or after a transition there are some pro active things you could do.

If you were interested in improving the situation.
- I would write a thread about potential solutions
- Ideas how the game play could be enhanced
- Issues that could be fixed and what that might look like.

I like the idea of an McPVP vs Brawl, but not because of these reasons but because it'd be fun. Also, one of the games would have to be on woolctf. :b

Can this "Brawl has ruined CTF" meme end yet? All changes have been done by the very same mcpvp staff that you love. Banners and No Instakills are the only things that were incorporated, but even then instakills are being worked out by the mcpvp CTF moderators.

Brawl is surely more prepared than mcpvp ever was, the best way to see this in action is to remember which server died.

 

Then again, the server management doesn't exactly equal the game quality, necessarily.
McPvP has obviously proven it had the potential to be extremely popular (if you look at how fast HG games filled up once upon a time, for example) with its games. Mismanagement money-wise is a different story...

 

gotta agree with what @Plautius said, a Brawlers vs MCPVPers match would be fun af, and yes, a game on the WoolCTF server would be god darn neessary, but I do have to say that if it weren't for Brawl CTF WOULD be dead.

And as for what @MR_EVIL_OVERLORD said about fixing CTF:
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, oh sir, you are really funny! Good joke, that'll probs get you the win in a comedy competition! In all seriousness though, I have yet to see an idea suggested by the community make it into CTF (except bug fixes, ofc. Nom is really good at bug fixes, not gonna lie). Well there have been additions to CTF INSPIRED by community suggestions, but no suggestions have been directly implemented except for maps.

 

This is just plain wrong. If the code wouldn't have been bought by someone else, by now it would be worth way less and could easily be bought by the community of which there are players capable of hosting servers? In any case, it's not like Brawl was our last hope.

People seem to have forgotten that mcpvp was garbage now that brawl's the new nebulous punching bag to pin problems on.

 

So what if brawl makes more updates and such, mcpvps updates may of taken eons, but quality beats quantity every day. Mcpvp did have its problems, but brawls just bad.

 

Mcpvp had neither quantity nor quality for the majority of its longevity. The only quality changes that CTF had came about the end of it's reign

Brawl is much more polished and capable of change in comparisson to MCPVP. It proved that it was able to establish a strong gamemode concept and beat it with a dead horse (aka 10000+ kits to HG), but once HG wasn't hip anymore the server tanked.

Potential and One Hit Wonder are very different.
