why not just release maps that look like ok CTF maps (i.e. nothing looks too egregious when a mod briefly looks over it) that you get as soon as they come in and then let the voting system that's already in game decide what maps stay and what maps go. most of them would probably be voted off pretty quickly but hopefully there'd be an occasional gem in there. i personally think maps should be accepted by gameplay--blackout, for instance, one of the most popular maps to my knowledge, might not be accepted today because it looks ugly and it's hard to pick out strategies just by looking at it. furthermore, this method would keep variety up in CTF's map selection. i'm not sure if map staleness is a major problem but getting rid of it can't hurt

You really don't understand what the EULA is all about. Ranks aren't allowed to give players an advantage over non-donators. Being able to play maps before they're isn't giving ranks an advantage over non-donators, its just a perk.

The proposition essentially says that go be whutelisted on the server you need to pay, which is actually 1 of the methods the EULA States is OK

    Basically, what Bird said.

CTF mods are experienced CTFers. They just CTF'd so hard they got a mod rank.

Some builders happen to also be experienced (MCPVP) CTFers. Then they got tired of the maps in rotation and tried their hand at building things. After spending a crap ton of time building, they happened to get the rank because they were on the Build server all the freaking time and got decent at making things. There's nothing stopping anyone else from going out and putting in the work.

Seriously, guys. Just go build or fix a map. Idc how minor the change is. Post it in forums to resubmit for rotation. Just do it!

    [get labeouffed]

There are already plans discussed in the forums for altering how new maps are implemented. This is beating a dead horse. Staff is listening.
