Like your previous thread, it depends.
If it's a matter of capturing the flag, soldier takes the cake, imo. If holding the flag, medic is clearly more suited for this.
I personally would rather play medic, than soldier. If you're going to play soldier, you might as well go capture the flag, which is something I suck at doing.

Soldier and Medic can go jump off a cliff...Both of them survive in the end, though.

 

I'd say 9 out of 10 times soldier is the better capping class.

Depends on the map. If the map is really cluttered and small-medium sized, it's good for soldier. If the map is full of tunnels, sponges, it's good for medic. IMO, because of the high health pool and the webs, medic is better (probably because I have no soldier skill, but eh). Soldier is good for avoiding people though, that's for sure.

 

Adding on to what MineSheep said, I like to use soldier for capping, though more recently I've started using medic. I like solider because it's easy to get away from non-mobile classes. If only I could use soldier to run away from my IRL responsibilities...

Like everyone is saying it really depends. The factors include the size, structure, obstacles, and height, of the map. Both of these classes can avoid a lot of trouble. For example soldier can obviously wall climb while medics can web [example being looking at the ground while still running and jump and then quickly throw a web down so the person can run into it]

 

If we're talking solo, soldier is better at stealing and crossing the map, but medic is better at holding due to the passive regeneration negating flag poison. Overall I think medic defines the meta right now, as you essentially need a medic to stay alive if both teams have the flag. It's the only class imo that can single handedly win a game by left clicking twice.

 

Depends on the map and the defense. If there's a high-damage low-armor def, medic is better. if there is a low-damage high-armor def, soldier is better.

 

Soldier is usually better for wide-open maps (blackout) and is marginally a better class for getting the flag and running home with it, especially without support. Medic is better for maps with closed in flag room and usually requires support if the team has a good ninja or assassin.
