[Event] Flag Runner II!

Flag Runner is back! Last year we hosted a CTF match within a maze and event was a hit. This time, the CTF staff team are bringing you back into the maze, but with some changes and upgrades to make it more clean, challenging and fun for everyone involved. As usual, you will not be able to see any pictures or visit the map of the maze that ikemulti built, however, I CAN tell you some changes we were able to add thanks to @NomNuggetNom.

1. Compasses are REMOVED. Yes, you read that correctly, you cannot use a compass to track either flag. This should make travelling the maze more difficult since you will not have directional assistance.

2. Nametags of enemies are REMOVED. In order to create that spooky atmosphere I attempted last year with a pitch-black maze, we’ve removed the ability to see the enemy team’s nametags.

We hope this makes the maze frustrating, exciting, hilarious and enjoyable all at the same time. Enjoy!

Spectator/Streaming information:
This will be a 4-5 person group that we will pick to stream the event for us. They will be listed here once we’ve decided on the group. Any other spectators will not be allowed, but you can watch the stream and any recordings of the event if you wish.

Rules:
Class Rules:
Bans - No Necro, Engineer, Dwarf
Class limits - 1 pyro, 1 assassin, 1 archer, 1 mage, 1 elf, 2 of any other class (medic, chemist, heavy, soldier, ninja).

Match Rules:
10v10 (5 subs per team).
Mandatory Match Rules
No glitching out of the map
Do not look at the maze before the event
If you are playing in the match do not watch the stream
Good sportsmanship
Event clause: Mods/Refs have the right to remove any player from the event for any reason.

Sign-up Information:
Sign ups will not be open until TOMORROW at 3 pm EST (12 pm PST | 8 pm GMT). Four slots will be reserved for another sign upat 5 PM PST (8 PM EST | 1 AM EST) Unlike last year, we will be running this event twice! This means around 40 participants in total. There will be “Match 1” and “Match 2” - times are as followed:

Match 1: June 25th, 2 pm EST
Match 2: June 25th, 3 pm EST

Please note that if you sign up for match 1 and miss it, you are not allowed to play in match 2.

*Once the main roster is filled up, only players that have marked they are willing to be a sub will be added. If you’d rather do something else than wait around to see, please mark no.

NOTE: Teams are encouraged to make skype/discord/teamspeak chats in order to communicate during the game and figure out any subbing that needs to happen.

Sign up Rules:
1. You can only sign up yourself.
2. You MUST specify which match you’d like to play in.
3. Once you have been added to a Match Roster on the official thread, you cannot switch Matches.
4. Teams will be randomized and balance via the staff team and RNG to make them as fair as possible.

Main Event Rules/Procedure:

1. All players(including subs, refs and streamers) are expected to be on the match server and ready to play no later than 5 minutes before Match 1 begins. Match 2 players are expected to be ready to play right when Match 1 ends and join as quickly as possible once the server restart
   1. All players on both rosters will be able to join during pre-game. Once the 5 minute mark hits, subs will be asked to leave (kicked if needed).
   2. If are you not here by the 5 minute mark, you will be subbed out.
   3. If you keep joining back, you will be removed from the whitelist and event.
   4. If a team cannot decide on a sub during these 5 minutes, I will do it for you.
   5. If your teams needs to sub during the match, PM a ref with the player being subbed out and the new sub and we will assist you.
2. Rules will be read at 2:00 and at 3:00 - then the match will begin, so PLEASE be ready.
3. Match will proceed as normal. Any player being disruptive, caught cheating or being unsportsmanlike will be removed from the event. It’s supposed to be fun for everyone!That’s all for now. I hope you guys are excited to tackle the maze once again. Be ready for sign ups tomorrow afternoon!

To help people in the PST timezone who are still in school, I will reserve 4 spots for each match. The sign ups for these spots will take place at 5 PST | 8 EST | 1 AM GMT. I will make an announcement for this sign up time as well. Hopefully this helps.
