Idea Small Dwarf Charge Idea: Focus

    Let's face it, almost EVERYONE wants a dwarf rework to nerf the ridiculous sword of his. Along with Quarrelt's level cap idea, my idea is that a hyper-offensive team makes it difficult for a dwarf to charge. Here's the idea:

    Focus
    "It's not so easy to inscribe your sword with runes on the fly, is it?"

    Basically, Focus makes it so the dwarf can't charge as easly in combat situations.


    Combat: When a dwarf attacks an enemy while charging, he loses focus on charging and the XP bar stagnates, so a dwarf can't gain levels during an extended push, though as soon as he stops attacking he can charge again.

    When an ENEMY attacks the dwarf, he is sent into a "shock" state for 3 seconds and the XP bar will stagnate. During this time, the dwarf can choose to stand up and attack the enemy and lose XP, or remain crouching and crawl back or let the team handle and regain charge. If an enemy is constantly attacking, the dwarf will not be able to charge up as much.

    It's a small nerf, but one that would hopefully limit charging during offensive pushes, though Quarrelt's level cap is most likely more useful.

    As always, this is just a thought and I'd love to hear opinions of what could be done and what could be changed.

    A: Can't charge when attacking enemy.
    B: Can't charge while being attacked.

    Uh... so you said five seconds of me waiting to use a power that is taken away when I swing my sword? You kidding me I walk super slow to start with this just make dwarf useless. if you have to wait five seconds to activate you will never gain levels due to a loss rate higher than what is gained when fighting

    Well... this is just a basic idea; roughest of rough drafts. I went to type it in and I just put out what came to mind. It's nice to get feedback and hear of things that are disliked, and I totally agree with your statements. I often forget how long in game time really is. I will either reduce to around 2 seconds or flat out remove it altogether and replace it with more of a "shock" when you get attacked, with less time.

    And as for the movement penalty, I reaaaaally hate that and will probably remove it.

    I don't really think this'd be very effective in nerfing dwarf. Until it gets a whole rework which it can't right now, dwarf needs small changes which are very quick to code and implement. This seems too complicated for now, and it'd probably be better to see time put in to a full dwarf rework than time put in to a complicated, ineffective change such as this.
