    During a skype call, @5ive_Head , @ningeek212 ,@YouAreBestBae, and myself started brainstorming ideas. One of the thoughts that we brought up was related to league of legends, and how they have a free champion rotation, which is a list of random champions that you can use during that week if you do not have them.

    So before we move on, let us talk about one word- Freeday.
    Freeday is a word that many fear, as we all know the countless amounts of engineers, assassin, and all of living hell possible. Not only that, but there are many more problems which we can agree on. Many want to simply remove freeday ontop of this.

    So now, going back to the statements from earlier, we wanted to brainstorm up something similar to the free champion rotation. Eventually, we thought it would be cool if a player could get themselves a random class, once a week, every week. So lets say I am a new player. I could "open a chest" and get assassin for a week for free, and then the next week I can open a chest and be able to play another premium class. Of course, make it so you couldn't get assassin again the next week to change it up. I think it would be sensible to make it so you couldn't get the same classes in a 4 week period. The time you could reroll a chest to get a new random class for the week would be on Friday, to help makeup for the loss of freeday. The classes you would get from chests would be just temporary for that week that you received it.

    Another idea to add on above is to make classes "randomized and rentable". From this idea, you can rent one chest, once a week with credits. So pretend a chest costs 5k credits. You can use these credits, once a week, to get a chest and "rent" the class from that chest for a week with said credits. Another idea is to give a discount on a class that you are currently renting if you want to buy it with credits.

    This is a very simple idea involving a possible, randomized system where you can open a chest or something similar, allowing you to receive a random class for the week, in which being able to roll again the next week and receive a different class to play for free that week. You could even add credits in the mix and make these chests buyable, ultimately "renting" a class for the week.

    Also, what if you get a stupid class like necro, or a class you dislike? Maybe instead, make it that the chests were free, but you could purchase a reroll possibly once or twice a month.

    Anyways feel free to post your ideas, whether you have anything to add or why you may be against this. Whatever works, just please stay on topic :smile:

    This is a great idea!
    The whole reason I think "Freeday" is important is because it allows people to try out classes before they buy them, which was better back then because you'd be spending real money. However, with this idea, the plethora of assassins, engineers, and other annoyances are stopped, restoring the balance...

    This is like a 2 for the price of 1 deal and its good

    This is a definite good change to freeday, since we all know freeday is there for a good reason, but it becomes very annoying for regs. Allowing one class per week for each player, and lasting all week, it allows for less annoyance, but still allows newer players to understand and get a feel for the premium classes.

    What if u are only missing 1-2 classes and since you can't get the same class again for 4 weeks how would that work?

    Was waiting for someone to ask this question actually.

    One of the ideas was to allow you to use the random system, unless you have a certain amount of premium classes already. So lets say I am missing 2 classes or whatever number is agreed on, then the system wouldn't be able to work for me in particular. This system is aimed at newer players who want to learn about and play other classes instead of mobbing only freeday.

    That is just one idea, this thread/suggestion is easily open to criticism and extended ideas.

    I love this idea. Of course it would have to follow a certain pattern so players don't get stuck with a class for 2 or more weeks. (2 weeks of necro, woopie). Make it less random to feel more random.

    Am I the only one who feels like this is an allusion to what Steve Jobs said about iTunes? Just something that popped out of the depths of my memories. Don't question me it was from a reliable source :c

    Anyway, unlike different songs of different artists which can put you in whatever different moods, 9 classes can be actually randominzed with no problems. Heck, I'll re-use Apple stuff here: make it like the iOS "shuffle", where the songs in a playlist are randomized in a particular set with no repeats, then that set gets replayed until you re-shuffle. On Friday, players will automatically do the re-shuffling part (with classes, not playlists).

    If I understood his question right, this also solves @ElementalBlade_'s problem, to a degree.

    @gamren I do love the Renting idea for a couple of reasons - the first being the rationale you listed in the OP about not having to randomize, and also that it more completely solves @ElementalBlade_'s problem. If you only have like two classes left to buy, the Random Chest will just give you a coin flip between them - if it's a free chest, no harm done if you don't get the one you want. However, if you want temporary access to a specific one of the remaining classes, not only is it a very small gamble to try the Random Chest, but you can always just go ahead and individually rent that particular class anyway.

    tl;dr for that last part: If the Random Chest gamble doesn't play out in your favor, you can just rent a particular class, which is cool.

    I generally like this idea because it stops mass amounts of classes like engineer all being played in 1 day, and in my opinion it would seem like a little bit of fun to see what you get. This idea as @ningeek212 has said it allows less annoyance to regulars playing and allows people to still try the premium classes.
