My problem with current HG and soup PVP

I disagree. There are enough videos of no-armors taking on full irons, and their kit makes a difference. Viking, Boxer, Thor, they all have an impact.

 

Impact? The only thing having a real impact is their soup skills. Kits are nothing more than comforts for some situations.

Did you read the post? He's saying that kits had an impact onto no soup, while they are barely usefull when you know how to soup on a soup server.

Tbf, yeah that's true I'm being immature. I do think that a developer could add no soup and soup back in, it's much better with both.

The problem then arises that someone looking specifically for soup may have to wait for a lengthy game to end if the only available server is NoSoup. And vice versa.

That said,

this is so true. I managed to win a few games as Demoman (I can't soup PVP, it's just too crazy for me) over six months ago (the last time I actually played HG) thanks to some cleverly placed traps but derping around in a cave or whatever waiting for the feast winner to blow themselves up wasn't that fun. The near inability to really play HG without a lot of skill at soup PvP, the gradual decline of HG based gamemodes since the fanfare around the Hunger Games has died down a lot since 2013, and the whole fallout between HG's main YouTuber/promoter (BadBoyHalo) and McPVP has pretty much screwed everything up. Imo, HG needs a reboot, and preferably with soup only able to refill hunger, not health.

 

Or better yet, no soup at all. Once you take away the restorative properties of soup, all you have left is a food source that doesn't have a very good saturation value, requires wood to make, and doesn't even stack. It's not worth it to sacrifice inventory space if you can just burn a pig and get yourself a better food source.
