    Could be because I only played Mcpvp Ctf for a month, but I personally think the banner makes more sense.

    banner looks better, you can find it easier, only negative side is that you can't shoot any projectiles threw it.
    overall banners are better

    Personally, I liked wool a lot better. However, banners do have some advantages and disadvantages wool didn't have. It's a lot easier to find the person who's holding your flag, seeing as how the banner sticks out like a sore thumb.

    I prefer wool, personally. Banners look better, but wool brings back a lot more nostalgia. Chests are older, but they were absolutely terrible for gameplay.

    It'd be fine with banners if they didn't ruin right clicking near the flag.
    A lot more people would be ok with banners if they didn't wreck that.
