Legacy Server

If I'm a new player and I have a choice between two similar servers, I'm going to go for the one with more players and features. It happened with Build and Creative, and unless you were willing to give Legacy some decent updates, I can see it happening here.

It'd be cool to have CTF 2.0 server that used Legacy as a foundation, but with the lack of updates at the moment I don't think it's worth it. Your time would be better used improving CTF, rather than starting from scratch with a fringe server that may or may not be successful.

 

Maybe not do like a whole different server, but do like a #ThrowbackThursday. A whole server would prolly divide the community even more, which really isnt needed

It'd be like FreeFriday, all classes are free to play, but it's old classes. I think I'd thoroughly enjoy playing the old ctf, of course if it's possible to do. Just have one day where it's back to what it was in like 2012 or 2013 (god, thats a long ****ing time ago). I would personally love that. (2012-2013?? thats a long interval! Yea well we got no updates back then, so it's easy :^)) )

 

but like if all the new/randee players played on this server (which seems much easier than the current servers so they probably would) it would be so hard to recruit people to the official teams b/c they'll know how to play these old classes but won't be good at the actual classes (aka the ones used in team matches)??

 

sounds like the kinda thing u would play once, get mad at, then not play again

 

Add all the maps, into one big rotation where its impossible to have the same map 2 times in a row. I also wouldnt mind seeing the classes reverted to normal.

Reason why im not calling bs on rebuffing chemist is because one of its main counters would get rebuffed which is pyro.

I miss being able to block the entrances to waterfall, or block in spawn. Screw around, etc.

so basically what ctf now should be like.

On the topic of the thread this would be completely awesome CTF classes would be more OP but it'd definitely make the game funner

I completely agree with you, old maps are/were the best because they were classics. They might have been over powered to one of the classes or several classes but still, they are enjoyable to play. I also want wool back.

correct me if I'm wrong but 414 is when a ninja would invis, hit, invis, over and over, and back then there was no timer to the redstone you would be invisible instantly so if someone was good at it, it was really annoying

Interesting explanation.... x'D But yes every class would have its own cheap OP ability (while heavy is just heavy lol).
Though, because this old McPvP code was never saved in its original form, we would need to remake it almost entirely from scratch. CTF doesn't have the time, effort, $$, etc. for that now, if ever... And making progressive updates for the current CTF is of much higher priority and relevance. But who knows what the future may behold?

mmmmmmmmmm i dont like this idea because those features were removed for a reason, and we shouldnt try to relive nostalgia...it will also be confusing to new players since there are 2 different ctf's, and it would be confusing for which one to use for matches. just play old maps every once in awhile on the reg servers, there's no need to go through all of this. it's gone for a reason just accept it
