Brawl has been slowly dying for a long time. Putty's resignation has just sped that process up.

For all those spreading doom messages about how brawl's going to end, deal with it:
What is honestly the point in telling us all this for about the 50,000th time? I've been taking a look at this for the past few days, and I keep thinking to myself what the point is in it. We all know that brawl is not in a good financial state. We also know that it's going to take a fair bit of effort to save it. Most of the people saying this also probably think it can't be saved as well. I don't really care about that, because my point is why is it relevant here. @Pyrotheum here has kindly pointed out (and rightly so I might add) that as chickenputty has resigned it is indeed another opportunity for things to change around here. It might not work, brawl might still go down, but it hasn't been officially closed yet. It also doesn't mean that there isn't the possibility, however small you might think that be, that it's revived. All you're doing is telling him he shouldn't bother giving us solutions because is dead. So, I feel the need to properly explain this.

If everyone were like the you guys, the ones with the fatalistic attitude, absolutely nothing would get done. Nobody would bother trying anything on this earth. Everyone would think, why bother, it's never going to happen anyway. Nobody would advance, things would just stagnate, or die off. Your attitude is actually going to make it more likely that this place does go, because fewer people are likely to try because of your comments, fewer ideas to potentially save the server will be spoken, and as a result the place is more likely to go down. It's also off topic, as this guy's suggesting stuff to fix the problem, not talking about brawl dying itself. I would suggest you use the negative section instead, but it seems most of the culprits on here have spammed it anyway. Just don't go spreading it here where instead of ranting about the problems, people are actually trying to suggest some solutions.

Am i saying that fixing brawl is going to be easy? absolutely not. There's a lot that needs to be done (and a lot that could be done by implementing some of the changes suggested by this thread) to revive things in any way. Even then it might not work, we may well still go down. With that said, trying is better than doing nothing and waiting for it to die. I want to try and fix things, because I care about brawl. @Pyrotheum cares about brawl, his suggestion proves it. @SoCool21 cares about brawl, he posted a response about it. The people who play on brawl right now care about it because they play on it. If you don't care about brawl, at least to some small extent, then why do you feel the need to be here in the first place.

To all those making a legitimate statement with a reason for brawl going down I accept that more reasonably than some of the angry players just spewing it everywhere, but the attitude still isn't going to help us potentially save it. Whether you think brawl will go down or not doesn't really matter, if you want to help brawl because you care about it, then you should still make an attempt, because trying is still better than doing nothing at all, and it's definitely better than spreading crap about how brawl is **** and it'll all be over soon.

Finally, yeah we get you're unhappy HG got shut down @UraniumTheGod, but it was financially unstable. Frankly your attitude at this point makes me doubt they'd ever want to bring it back if brawl continued to last anyway.

In short, people still want to fix the situation despite you thinking it'll die anyway. Deal with it.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I can get on to actually responding to some of the more sensible posts.

@TheMafias That doesn't mean things can't change, and a string of poor decisions can be corrected with some good ones. It just takes some effort. I'd rather take a positive mentality into this even if things aren't looking so good, and hopefully the staff will realise they have to do the same (as well as listen to us for the most part. I'm excluding @SoCool21 immediately from this as he's actually doing a lot to help) Not all the community as as bad as you make it out to be, but inevitably those people exist. Whether brawl has gotten to that point or not anyone could call it. I think what matters is we try and save it anyway, and hope for the best. If we fail, at least we tried

@Pyrotheum your ideas are good, they're a little vague but they're a starting point. What we really need is for the staff to actually start communicating better with everyone. I made a ctf post on the matter quite a while ago making a very long list of all the problems in ctf, along with a subsequent one about the current state a few months on. The latter talked about how the staff weren't communicating well enough. I recommend all staff start taking this seriously now if you care about the server. If you don't I'm not sure why you're even staff in the first place to be frank. I like the optimistic tone and yes, player ideas are definitely needed. Some financial sacrifices may have to be taken to potentially make this work, but it's a start. Any new suggestions if they are implemented would have to be properly coded. They can't be a slither that ends up getting ruined.

@Impractical yeah, when he resigned it was a blow. It does however mean that a new opportunity exists to change things up, which is what brawl desperately needs at the moment. Brawl's future is undecided, which is why it's really important we make suggestions like this now so that they can be put to good use.

    Finally,
to all staff members- It's going to take a lot of work to fix brawl. Some of you I know work very hard to make this place good for all of us, others not so much. You need to start being more transparent and cooperative with the playerbase. Brawl is a business, it'll go down if it doesn't properly cater to the majority of the playerbase. Right now, that's simply not happening. Things need to be done now that were promised long ago, advertising needs to be done that should have been kept up with long ago. Sometimes bending the rules for the benefit of brawl as a whole is necessary, and right now this just isn't happening. If you want brawl to survive then it's going to take some effort, but it can still be done

to all players- It's not just about the staff, you need to get the word out, tell people brawl is a fun place. Be welcoming to the new players, make sure they stick around, get them involved with the community (I know from experience CTF is terrible when it comes to this, that needs to change). Suggest ideas, get involved with the changes and demand transparency. It all matters, it all helps because brawls in dire trouble and it needs all the help it can get.

If they don't brawl dies, if they do brawl has a chance. Things have to change now, you'd be surprised what changes when people are desperate. If it goes down so be it, at least I tried. If you don't want to, fine by me

tl;dr people actually want to save the server you're condemning before it's dead. Deal with it.

Yes, as a matter of fact I do. Much like @UraniumTheGod I focus on 1 server, capture the flag:
    upload_2016-11-16_10-0-34.png
As you can see quite clearly here I have rather a lot of experience on the server. Now although I do only play on the one server the CTF community has the largest number of staff members tied to a specific gamemode. With that said, other staff members do tend to wander on every so often because CTF is one of the more popular gamemodes (a specific example I could think from the last couple days is @_featherpaw_) So I'm fairly used to seeing a number of staff members on. I see how the staff act in game on CTF an awful lot, and it must be a damn site better than your gamemode because they're nowhere near as bad as how you make it out. They're by no means perfect but they're intelligent and perfectly capable of making the changes needed to keep brawl afloat in my eyes (with some effort of course).

I get it, you don't think the server will survive, you've stated that as I've said in my first post about 50,000 times on the forums now. You're making it harder for brawl to survive by telling people it's useless to even attempt to save it. I you do care about the server I suggest you make some suggestions, if not then I don't even know why you're here in the first place

    Face the facts.

No money means no new servers. No new servers means no more players. No more players means no more Brawl.

Remember that server Pyskocraft? Yeah, think of all the money went down he drain with that project.

If no money spelt out the end for everything a good 50 or so countries on earth would be about to collapse, including the USA (here's a debt clock if you're interested: http://www.nationaldebtclocks.org/ ). I'm well aware that lack of money does severely limit the amount of options here, but it doesn't mean we're totally screwed. Of the servers currently available right now it's possible you could convert one of them to a new gamemode (I suggest one of the more unpopular ones) if a new one were possible. Yeah, it doesn't help the dire situation, but it doesn't actually mean the end on it's own. Currently the cycle runs on players providing the funds to keep things running and improve gamemodes, which by default attract new players. Right now that isn't the case because there's not enough players to fund it. That means fundamentally we have 2 main ways of injecting to the cycle- spend some of the money that should have been spent ages ago on the gamemodes (yes this is where you can be angry about the skins @UraniumTheGod) to update and innovate, and a free way of getting players to advertise to their friends. Some will do that as they want to save brawl, but ultimately if you can't get something for free, you could potential give credits for referral/voting etc.

As for stuff that was never considered, well if they want to make good on their word about caring what happens to brawl, they'll start making the changes. If not then they prove us all right that they don't, and by default don't deserve to be staff. The staff of this place should care about it most of all, and thankfully quite a few that I can think of are doing what they can right now. It's about time the others started pulling their weight

You're delusional. Upper staff ignore/shoot down any ideas given to them on nearly every gamemode. Instead of fixing gamemodes they comepletely remove it

Upper staff have more responsibilities than reading every single suggestion. Mods often read these ideas and pass them on - its something I do often a lot.

Also, removing a gamemode is a lot easier than fixing it. Brawl cannot afford to spend coders on things such as Creative and HG when there are more important things to work on. I assure you the higher staff do care, but don't simply have the time to read the forums when they have a lot more responsibilities as well. Improving the communication between mods and the players, and then the mods with the higher-ups, is something that definitely should be done and something I'm trying to do myself.
