The Brawl Personality Test

I did the test before I posted the thread just to make sure it wasn't wildly out. It's actually very accurate yes. I'm sure a lot of people could agree with my result

It's been a few days, and responses have slowed to a trickle now so the survey is now closed. The results are certainly interesting to say the least:

At the start of this, I honestly expected there to be quite a variation of different personality types resulting from the survey. Just because we're on the internet playing a videogame, I did assume that we may well get a split more introverted. The results did show that the bigger groups tended to be introverted. However, what really surprised me was how many people shared the same personality types. Without further ado:

Turns out that 2 groups make up a good 35.6% of the community, those 2 being dreamers/mediators and Advocates/Campaigners. Together. With the defenders and confidants they make up over 55% of the community as a whole. It seems the brawl community really brings people with similar personalities together. With that said, there's still a fair bit of diversity from smaller groups. Persuaders, chiefs, entertainers and many other groups are involved in the community. Whilst we do have a lot of similar personality types, there's also a fair amount of diversity. Some people that fall into each category:

I only included up to 3 of each type to avoid clutter so if you're not included that's why! Now as for the reason the names were changed. I've been comparing the results I received from this to another website which takes the percentages of all respondents to see if we have any interesting contrasts to the total population of test takers. The world percentages:

First thing to notice is one of our biggest categories is the dreamer, and yet it's one of the smallest in the world percentage, accounting for just 2% overall. We have around 8 times as many dreamers as the general population. Similarly, we have 9 times as many confidants, as that amounts to 9% of our population, but only 1% in general. We have around twice as many advocates as the global population. 11% of our population were defenders, as a pose to only 7% of the general population. Of course, this also means there are big differences at the other end of the spectrum as well. We had only half as many examiners as the general population, comprising about 4.4% of our population. 4.4% of ours were also entertainers, much short of the 11% general population. Mentors account for 4% of the total population and yet none showed up in our survey. Similarly, strategists make up 1.5% of the population and none of them showed up either. The biggest deficit was overseers. 2.2% of our make-up were overseers, only about 1/6th of the 13% overseer general population result. There were also some similarities. Chiefs make up 4% of the general population, and our result was 4.4%, so about as close as we can get for a lower sized survey. Craftsman was also pretty close, making up about 6% of the general population and 6.7% of ours (honestly given we were playing minecraft I'd have expected more!)

Now we had 45 responses which is pretty good for a random survey on brawl, but this is still pretty significantly short of the 54,000,000 who've taken the survey in general, so just take our results with a pinch of salt. With that said, it's incredible to see the similarities and differences we all have, not to mention the huge deviation from the general population. From these results, it's pretty certain the brawl community stands out as unique from the general population.

 

It's not messed up. When I said they messed all the names around on that other website I really wasn't kidding. They switched advocate away from one category and moved it to another. In hindsight I probably should have done post converting but I just wanted to make things simpler later on. Basically, the chart letter combinations are correct, not the names of the categories, so look at those rather than whether or not it's called "dreamer". I used the names of the categories in my results because they related directly to the pie chart and the other website figure and so it all lines up here. I'll do a quick conversion here:

ESTJ - Overseer = Executive
ESFJ - Supporter = Consul
ISTJ - Examiner = Logistician
ISFJ - Defender = Defender
ENTJ - Chief = Commander
ENTP - Originator = Debater
INTJ - Strategist = Architect
INTP - Engineer = Logician

ESTP - Persuader = Entrepreneur
ESFP - Entertainer = Entertainer
ISTP - Craftsman = Virtuoso
ISFP - Artist = Adventurer
ENFJ - Mentor = Protagonist
ENFP - Advocate = Campaigner
INFJ - Confidant = Advocate
INFP - Dreamer = Mediator

Hopefully that will sort out any problems now
