    CTF Map Submission
    This is my CTF Map Submission called 'The Library'.
    A versatile and different type of CTF Map where the game takes place in a large inclosed space instead of a field or world.

    Great for all classes with tons of areas to explore and fight for each others flag!

    Really Cool, Spawn is a bit small imo, but overall it looks really good. I don't like dim lighting though. Hope I could see this in the rotation soon! Keep it up @blonk6 and I'll make sure to check out your map on build.

    I think the map looks pretty awesome! I feel like there are a couple large gameplay issues regarding soldiers and class balancing, but I admire your creativity and ambition with this map. I love the atmosphere you were able to create ^^

    Thankyou EddKrumbs! I was really trying with the ideas and atmosphere.

    Regarding the soldiers and class balancing, it's not all what you might expect.


    - Many areas have been blocked off, having changing heights or have strategic fencing to prevent soldiers from abusing the walls.

    - Sponges and ladders have been placed so any player can get onto most high spaces (ei; High bookshelves and chandeliers)

    - Because of the restricted height of the ceiling anyone can be shot down or delt damage from archers, engineers etc, at any point in the map. (if found to be cheating or abusing their class)

    Some of the best ways to get around the map are not by abusing any particular class.

    Haven't tested it, but from the looks of it, Soldier will be having a fun time capping!

    Thanks @Nightowl for the advice.
    I've made a few changes!

    Time of day - Pretty simple thing here, the time of day doesn't change during CTF matches, so if it is set to day time it'll be fine! and I've added extra torches and light sources to make getting around easier.

    Aesthetics - Thankyou for noticing the different block choices, however I specifically chose the dark wood blocks as they remind me of great reading halls and libraries, such as; Harvard and Old University aesthetics. Therefor it works quite well and debunks your argument. Just because you don't like that shade of brown, doesn't mean it's not universally appreciated aesthetically!

    Repetitive design -
    The design is repetitive, but that's quite intentional as it is meant to reflect the formality of a library space.

    Spacing of structure - Changes have been made to allow for more interesting combat. Some book shelves have been lowered, and others removed for more open areas. Sponges have been placed in more convenient locations to allow for more versitle movement and combat.

    Sense of direction (a.k.a. The biggest problem! [apparently])
    . -

    1. The sponges have been fixed to launch players across the map and into battle.

    2. Carpet has been placed to clearly label and direct players towards their flag. If they want to find the other teams flag they only need to walk forward and find many of the doorways / entrances and exits.

    3. The middle has been fixed and now has an array of exits and entrances whilst still being defendable.

    4. The first "secret pathway" isn't a secret pathway, It's more of a small hallway before spawn.
    The second "secret pathway" is actually a hole players fly through when they step on their sponge at spawn.
    5. Dead-ends have been removed or pushed forward

    Flagroom - There is one now, or at least a more defined one. The whole purpose was too make it feel open, yet defendable. Now updated bookshelves at either end to make it unable to achieve head shots and easy targeting.

    Upper area - The Upper areas have been made more player friendly with added sponges and ladders. Areas where soldiers/ elves / ninjas could been hidden have now been removed or fixed!

    Conclusion; Thanks for your criticism just remember; 1. not to include your own personal prejudice against dark oak wood and 2. Remember basic rules of the game, ei) the daylight not changing. xxooxx :stuck_out_tongue: :smile:

    This map looks like it took a whole lot of effort. I'm not sure how active you are rn, but I'm trying to give last minute feedback on stuff. I'm sorry for being so late on this.

    - This map is a maze right now. I'd recommend trying to differentiate areas somehow so it's not all just the same row after row of bookshelf.
    - Fix accessibility between levels.
    - Fill in dead space/unused corners so that players arent just lost in the corners

    The concept on this is really cool, but the fact that it's so vertical makes it really difficult to work with
