"Nerf" ninja (not like the other nerf suggestions)

Yes, in theory ninja can be easily killed. But the thing that makes ninja the level of annoying it is(imo) is the speed. And let's add in how advanced PvP is to where if you W tap enough especially with speed 2, it makes it impossible for others to hit you. The thing that is meant to balance ninja is the fact that it has no armor, but how is that balancing it out if the ninja isn't able to be hit? If players take advantage of the speed, w tapping, AND the sharpness, then yes, ninja is pretty ridiculous imo. Oh and don't forget about the invisibility and eggs. Eggs also go a long way if used properly. I realize ninja is supposed to be able to kill low armored classes, and that makes sense, but let's also remember that this is a team game. This being a team game, 2 good ninjas can absolutely destroy a low armored class. No doubt about it. In no way am I suggesting to take speed 2 away from ninja, that'd clearly ruin ninja and its purpose. Instead, I'd like to see what LeDoener suggested: a diamond sword that has sharp 2.

 

ye maybe, but not if the ninja is behind and crits you. Ever playd pyro in the defense? i wanna see how u steak a ninjacritt if a hit makes 5-6 hearts dmg.

Pyro can 2 shot ppl if they are on fire. Archer can one shot ppl if they are 30 blocks away. Why we concerned about ninja? because the most of you has not more then 5k games played and talking about it fine. Please play on a team match or on casual server in the defense. I want to see how "its ok" ninja is with the damage and the speed.

As far as experience goes, I've been playing CTF since 2012 so I'm pretty sure I know what I'm talking about. That said, it does not take 5k games, or playing on a "team match" (which is a much different scenario since Necro, Engineer, and Dwarf, all of which hard counter Ninja are banned) to see that making Ninja slightly less of a kamikaze class by increasing its base damage by 0.5 is not an issue.

 

And with this post, i know that the experience is missing. When is the last time you played ctf? Just play against good ninja's and try to cap. Then you will see, that the damage is to high.

 

Key words: "good ninjas". I thought we were just talking about Ninja, not just the "good" ones.

So? I've "played before", that "before" being over 3 years including when Ninja had sharpness VI (before it was nerfed to sharpness V) and sharpness V (before that was nerfed to sharpness IV). CTF hasn't been meaningfully changed in any way other than the (long overdue) Ninja sword buff since I stopped playing a month ago. If I played a game today I'd have the same opinion of Ninja's sword buff that I had when I was arguing for it, on this forum, months ago. I can say that because of years of previous experience. I don't need to play today or tomorrow to know what I'm talking about.

 

Ah ok, i can see there is no sense to tell you that sharp5 makes a bit to much damage. What was the reason for the devs removing sharp 6 and 5 ? Maybe it was to overpowered with Speed 2, i dont know? I have a question, what was your most played class in mcpvp? and please ask some people (please people which also try to steal and cap) how annoying and now partially op ninja with speed 2 and sharp 5 is. Thank you.

PS: the ctfgameplay 2-3 years ago was unbalanced asf. you cant compare this with now.

 

The reason for the change was because of the pyro rework, the devs felt that ninja no longer needed to do so much damage to pyro. This however, completely disregarded every other class ninja does damage too, and since the crit changes and all that ninja takes a lot more damage, meaning a buff to the damage it outputs makes sense.
