I think chemist is fine atm. I would like to see classes that have a more obvious need for tweaks worked on first, and then we can see and move on from there.

But if anything were to change with chemist, what do others think about removing its helmet? (it nerfs an aspect of the class that it's less focused on/less oriented towards - allowing it to remain focused on its pots and damage output, so to be a more reasonable and small nerf)

Though, like others have said, if I'm having a bit of trouble playing the class, I can't imagine what it is for the average player.

Edit: It fits nearly every role in CTF, but being a jack-of-all-trades doesn't let it be the best option for each specific role, imo.

Wouldn't this not effect chemist cappers? The banner already takes their helmet, but I guess it'd weaken all chemists in general. Imo, I think chemist's just fine and should stays as it is until other classes are taken care like you said.

Here's one thing I think everyone here can agree on: I'm a chemist main, not excellent but not terrible (except after I wake up). (IGN: Shady_Ivan)

I find one huge problem with chemist: healing is not instant.
While it does heal a HUGE amount, how "instant" it is plays a huge factor.
Example 1: flagroom, ninja/pyro/buffed heavy, the usual.
A chemist will obviously use regen but that isn't enough. Usually I pay close attention to my hearts and I splash when I'm at six hearts because while the pot is going down I'm still taking damage. And when frenzy is used? Won't even mention it. Sometimes you get knocked out of the way of your heal as well, and have to splash an extra, essentially not allowing you to attack back or do anything except maybe splash a harming at your feet as well.
Example 2: edge of a cliff.
Let's say the fall deals 5 hearts of damage. An archer being knocked off (and below 5 hearts) can steak midair while a chemist has to land to be able to heal. Well, when they do land, they go splat. A pain in the backside on maps where the flag is on top of a ledge, hill, etc.
Example 3: against a skilled archer.
First shot (100% power), you're down 7+ hearts & slowed. Then while splashing, another low-power shot finishes you off. Quite annoying.

Another minor problem is that healing is applied not only to you but to others around you.
When you get hit hard in the middle of a fight, you have like, no option but to instantly pot. The enemy will often get healed by this as well. Against heavies, well, you've just restarted the fight with 1 less pot. It's also quite noticeable against other chemists because they deal a lot of damage to each other and healing in an emergency happens quite often.

Because of this HUGE flaw that cannot be fixed and should not be fixed, I believe chemist is quite fine as it is, and other classes should be fixed first (cough mage cough archer cough).

Imo Chemist is fine, I don't see it as a broken or overloaded class, honestly I wish it had stopped getting nerfed before they reduced pots but thats just me xd

Chemist's kit is really strong, but at the same time it comes with a high skill cap. Not anyone can pick up chemist, have the reaction time to heal pot perfectly without splashing enemies when a ninja come to kill it. There are people who are unstoppable with the class, but those are pretty rare.

True, chemist can play a lot of roles and is op is played skillfully, but the armour balances it. It only takes about 3-4 hits from a ninja to kill it and in a legitimate battle with chemist vs heavy, the heavy would usually win.
Chemist has a lot of potions, which can be both good and bad. Naturally you would buff yourself with strength, fire res. and regen before going into a fight, but this takes some time. Additionally, it takes even more time for the chemist to throw the damage and poison pots (that don't deal that much damage) and scroll back to the sword, and the opponent can easily use that time to attack.
The chemist can't even spamm pots because of the cooldown.
