Idea [Class Concept] Agent

    This is a little bit different than my general class ideas. I'm trying to get general feedback about a concept that I had for a class idea before I go create it, so I can get a general feel for what people think about the concept before I potentially waste a lot of time creating it.

    Essentially, the class is a special agent, like the CIA, KGB, MI6, Mossad, S.H.I.E.L.D., etc. The class would be an offensive support class, with a secondary role as a potential capping class.

    The purpose of the agent class is to gain information about the enemy team via various abilities, like a remote control drone (bat) to scout out enemy bases, a map that provides exact locations of both flags, etc.

    Combat abilities would include a small AoE blinding effect and other secret agent like abilities.

    My primary concerns with a class like this would be the fact that it would be relatively useless on small maps, and that its ability set would make the class seem boring to play. Additionally, do you think that a combination of a lot of smaller abilities would still make the class over powered?

    From what I read, I wouldn't be opposed to having this class. Although Ninja can technically be used to gain information about the enemy team, I think if this class is diverse enough from Ninja, it would be fine. I'd still want to see the final product/idea for this class too. Interested in what others think about this class c;

    I like the idea of this class, gaining information about the other team and Aoe blinding. However, I the information gaining part does not sound very fun of a class because you'd just be reporting the information back to your team and you would not have much action. Or maybe Agent could just automatically transfer its data/info on the other team to its own team when players are within a few block? I guess it would boost its usage since it would be quite an advantage. There also would not be an over use because too many would be overdoing it. For the small abilities, I suggest adding a those that will be used often. When I say often, I mean every 5-20 seconds, or else it becomes practically useless. Overall, I would like to see this class's idea, and good luck.

    Most of the information provided would be passively given. For example, while the map provides an exact location in real time of the both flags, you can't actively provide that information to other people without discord or typing. Therefore, I was thinking something along the lines that if you right click on the map, any teammates within 5 blocks of you would get a 10 second long real-time XYZ coordinate of the enemy flag carrier above your health bar, like currently displayed when you hold your compass. If you're using it to try and recover, you could shift right-click and it would provide a real time update of your team's flag location.

    The other passive information that I was thinking is that any person within 7 blocks of the agent has their nametag shown through walls, regardless of if they are crouching or not. Only exception to this is an invisible ninja, who would become translucent like a spectator head (the ninja's nametag would still not be seen through walls if they are invisible).

    This passive information would assist the offence by allowing them to spot potential danger before they run into it, as well as assist recovery.

    Other combat abilities that I was thinking of were the ability to disguise as an enemy player, as well as like an AoE EMP ability-block ability.

    Just going on the theme of the class itself, I don't like it when you compare it to mages, elves etc. We've got an almost medieval theme to the game, and whilst we do have classes like pyro, nothing is as far out as this idea. The stealth aspect is something I like, but I think thematically it needs to be changed.

    The overall theme of the class could easily be changed. Class name is Warlock, and it uses dark magic to posses bats and look around through them, they can see the movements of their enemies through the void, and can use dark energies to mimic their forms as well as blind them.

    However, with that being said, I think that I need to go back to the drawing board with this class. While the offensive support role is currently open, I don't think that the path I was taking with the Agent in terms of gameplay was the correct one to take.

    I think i'm going to re-make the class with a different aspect of gameplay in mind. The warlock description that I provided above game me a lot of cool ideas that I think I can role with to make a really fun and useful class.
