Yeah, I remember, now. How do you expect socialism to work in a limited government society?

I'd also like to add that there's this little test too, which is pretty cool.

You guys do realize that politicalcompass.org is infamous for biasing individuals down and to the left with questions designed in such a way that the answers of rational individuals will always have them end up in the bottom left, right? I've had some pretty Conservative and Authoritarian friends of mine take the test for a giggle to see where they ended up. The Conservative ended up about -5 horizontally and -1 vertically meanwhile the Authoritarian ended up -7 horizontally and -5 vertically. The test is hogwash and shouldn't be taken even a quarter seriously.

I mean hell, feel free to look at the graph you guys constructed yourself. The majority of the data is in the bottom left despite the actual opinions of the individuals who took the test may realistically be nowhere near there.

You may have a point, but don't you think most of the people here really are politically in the bottom-left? I don't mean to insult. It's just kids these days are rather entitled. They want a lot of free stuff.

People tend to be what you would call left leaning in general, but I am not quite sure about the authoritarian/liberal axis. Besides, I think the point here is to see how we compare to each other, not how we compare to adolf hitler.

Considering the modern Liberal is a bit to the right and a tad above middle, I have little doubt that much anyone here would be as far left as individuals such as Marx, as far down as individuals such as Stirner, as far down and to the left as George Orwell, and as close to the bottom left as Kropotkin. Coming from a Communist, I can tell you that individuals who want free stuff aren't typically that far left. Individuals who are that far left on the spectrum typically subscribe to Socialism's typical dictum, "from each according to his ability, from each according to his contribution" and would see it more fit to have individuals be recompensed based on direct correlation to work done rather than have "free stuff."

Doesn't mean to insult and immediately slanders an entire generation as "rather entitled" nice

Also "free stuff" is paid for by tax dollars (so, no, it is not "free" at all). If you're going to use right wing buzzwords to attack social programs, at least attempt to understand what you're attacking

Except many of those guys ended up in the top-left. Also, "From each according to his ability, from each according to his contribution." is actually "need", not "contribution". "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need."
It seems like a good philosophy, but it would be a boring society. We would be living like the Amish. Video games, Minecraft, and Brawl wouldn't exist, because you don't need them. They're useless. In fact, probably 60–70% of all jobs in capitalism are completely useless from the standpoint of meeting human need and will disappear in a communist society geared solely to meeting human need as opposed to the need of the present system to make a profit.
I know nothing is actually free. "Free" actually means someone else is paying for it for you.
I can understand free healthcare, but free tuition? Nope. Higher education is not a right, it's a privilege. You don't need a fancy degree to earn a decent or essential living.
