    Hello, friends! I'm here for the rest of my summer break (until August 19th), before my freshman semester at Vassar College begins.

    For those of you who don't know me, the name's Chris. I was an SMod from 2013 to 2014, and I was nicknamed the "Ban Monkey," because, well, I was in charge of the bans at the time (duh). I have over 2600 bans on record, but I am sure that the new staff has passed me up by now. I was also known for leading the MC-War spawn build team, which--to my knowledge--is still being used to this date.

    In my time at Brawl, I was a relatively obscure character; for the majority of my time online, I would be looking at the reports spreadsheet, AFKing at the hub spawn, and/or lurking around on TeamSpeak. Unfortunately, during the time of my activity, I was not able to bond with the community as much as I would have liked, hence my obscurity.

    Regardless, if you have any questions about my experience as a former staff member, any questions about my personal life (but nothing too personal), or if you just wanna join me on TeamSpeak or for some games, let me know below! :]

    I'm sure back then 2600 bans was a lot. Hackers have seem to become more of a problem nowadays than it was back then. I was able to get 600 bans a month when I first got mod :S
    What's it like outside of minecraft? Or Brawl in general?

    600 a month is pretty rad. I think I was hitting 400 a month in my prime. Also, I didn't know mods can ban now; back in 2015, mods could only kick for an hour.

    Outside of Minecraft, life has been okay. After my resignation, I had far more time to focus on my studies and my music (I just played a gig at the Playboy Jazz Festival last month), and I think I was able to succeed more because of this. I'm really glad that this new generation of staff members have stepped up to volunteer their free time and make the servers more enjoyable for everyone.

    Outside of Brawl... well, I rarely ever played any Minecraft outside of Brawl. hehehe

    Nice, the staff system has changed since back then. iirc, mod was the rank you got when you first got promoted? Now it's trial jmod for a month where you are only staff on the server you main, then it's global jmod on all servers. Jmods focus on the chat mainly. When I was jmod, I was only able to mute up to 12 hours and kick up to 1 hour. Now with the warning system, none of that really applies anymore besides with reports. After jmod comes mod. Mod is I guess like smod back then? I'm not to familiar with the old system as I was a randy back in 2014. Anyways, once you get mod, you pretty much have perms for anything outside of permbans. Smod then comes after that and they have access to permbans.

    Ah, I see. The staff count definitely has inflated since then, but the servers seem to be far more family-friendly! Kudos to you guys for establishing this.

    I believe the name of the account I am borrowing is xXMethodManXx, or something along those lines.

    When we wiped the bans, I was very active for a week afterwards and managed to get 450 bans in 6 days. That's the most I've had.

    What was it like on the staff team back then? Did you ever see Chap post a message, because I haven't >_>

    The staff team was pretty closely-knit, from my perspective. They, meaning Putty, Venom, Giggadream, 8vo, Mr. O, and D3 (though he lurked around, for the most part) were all super funny, unique guys that made my experience as a staff member both enjoyable and memorable. Some of my fondest memories of Brawl were playing and chatting with those guys.

    I have seen Chap post messages, but even in 2014, he was always administrating from the sidelines, and @chickenputty was the head-honcho in regards to staff coordination.

    Things have been pretty good for me lately. Also the server seems to better itself but don't expect many to remember you :frowning: Sadly our generation is gone and a new generation of players is now housing here.
    I am doing my best to stay active, even managed to get my 4th #1 spot on a brawl leaderboard. But I am about to join the Bundeswehr (German military) so I am guessing my time is almost over.

    Likewise, Dasky! I do remember seeing you around, as well as touring some of your builds on the Creative server. Belated congrats on your promotion to SMod!
