    Frankly, I like the idea of 9 hearts of true damage then 1 second of bleed doing 1 heart; killing them off. If another player kills the player that the archer shot before the bleed does, the archer gets the kill anyways.

    If we have/want to keep the instakill, the arrow count could be reduced to 10 and regenerate at a rate similar to medic's webs (maybe even slower). Stops archers raining down arrows like hellfire, restricts bowspam, and punishes the archer for missing.

    In my opinion archer is 'ok' if we'd remove the punch I to start with. We can work out something different to replace the instakill headshot. This will take time, and of course hence we don't have our own coder atm, it will take even more time to actually implement it in the game.

    Without the headshot archer would be rediculously boring and useless, trust me. Ok, maybe we can move it ten blocks back but at least keep it.

    About the punch, I see no harm in removing it. It would make the class less annoying to fight, which apparently makes everyone happy.

    Jesus, Archer should be using the sword defensively instead of their bow, using the sword to keep enemies away makes sense.

    Very rarely do I use punch in situations where I don't bow spam. I think the reason people hate punch is because archers use it as bow spam to get away from a player such as a heavy. Therefore punch isn't the real problem here, bow spam is. Even if you get rid of the punch, there will still be bow spam. Therefore limit the amount of arrows archers get, (maybe 10-16ish). And have arrows regenerate much like Medic cobwebs. And to reward archers, maybe once they get a kill, they are allowed to get 1 or 2 arrows back, but if they constantly miss (like me) then they will have to wait for arrows to regenerate.

    Hence 'stupid question'. I always thought that POWER I did the knockback thing xD. I thought punch did more damage or something. But now I know what it means lol.
    interesting idea, but give it 25/30 arrows, not JUST 15.

    Replace punch on the bow with knockback 1 on the sword.

    With punch, you are able to keep getting more distance between you and the enemy without ever having to switch off of your bow. With knockback, the archer is able to safely keep enemies away, but can't keep pushing them farther away.

    That would basically result with the same problem as punch I right now, the other player is barely able to touch the archer because of the constant hits it's getting by the Punch I bow / Knockback I sword. The reason why people want to have Punch I removed it to avoid bowspam to get their opponents back, adding Knockback I to the sword would be exactly the same thing, perhaps even easier.

    Just remove the punch. The only time an archer should bowspam is when the enemy is approaching but not in melee range, and that should only be to get some extra damage off. The sword and armor that archer receives is plenty of offensive and defensive power for short range.

    Remove the punch entirely. Archer has decent armour and a sword good enough to kill low-armoured classes that usually go for them.

    And please, remove the ridiculous damage it does to chemist and that overly annoying slowness II which it gives per shot!

    If your goal is to fight bowspam, this ain't the way lmao, a good bowspammer doesn't need punch at all to obliterate the enemy, and you will have the same problem and the same people complaining about it.

    Tbh rather just bring in the new minecraft shield from 1.11 (YES UPDATE CTF AND GET A PLUGIN FOR THAT PVP SYSTEM) The shield was made because Mojang noticed ranged had way too much impact compared to melee. Mojang kinda solved this problem it's just CTF still being 1.8.9
