Are mages too Overpowered?

    With most people I don't know who's good anymore. I always assume people who aren't being logical or reasonable don't know what they're talking about though and that's okay. I'm here to educate. The main problem with your request for a nerf is that it would be too crippling and you don't provide a means of adding a strength somewhere else. Furthermore, your examples of why mage is too good are based on behavior exhibited by top mages and not all. Furthermore, it takes incredible skill, a map that needs to better protect spawn, and a lack of decent ninjas for a mage to troll an entire team like you talked about. I've done it on whiteout/blackout a few times and tried and strafed into the void on halo once (LEL). Extending the ice spell TBH does nothing for me and I'd like to see the time someone is frozen cut in half. It only serves to delay both the mage and whoever's frozen, makes combos less effective, and allows a mage to really get away should they need to. I often wait a long time for someone to un freeze to land my next spell and I start to feel sorry for them as I look through the ice. I have no time for sympathy.

    Basically, I'd be up for mage tweaks but not in the damage spell or healing areas of the class. Flame can loose its duration and KB. Lighting spell needs a total rework IMO. Reduce ice time.

    I am asking for a slight nerf on the heal and elimination of the knockback on the damage spell. A buff on the ice spell is supposed to compensate for that. The point is to make damage spell spam less rewarding, to make (skilled) Mages less ridiculous to kill (via infinite regen V), and to put a greater emphasis on skill (harder to land ice spell than consecutive damage spells. 5 sec recharge vs. 1.25 second recharge).

    True, but there's a lot of decent/good mages out there (that includes the 'top' mages).

    Yes and it still happens more often than it should.

    I have nothing against anyone being brilliant with a class doing really well in game with it. What I have a problem with is when they are virtually unkillable due to both how good they are and how OP the strengths of Mage are when fully utilized. Point being, its potential power is far higher than most classes when used well and that is an issue.

    The reason for adding it is because it works with the heal nerf. Nerf the heal and Mage has more time to maneuver.

    TBH I think you can just decrease ice time straight up right now and more than half of mages wouldn't care.

    Tbh I think mage has the same problem as archer, it's hard to master but once you mastered it (including bowspam yes) nobody can get near to you aka, an other ranged class can only kill you.
    If you hit every spell melee has no chance unless they are with 3 at least.

    This means you have aimbot (or you're fighting someone with no mouse, a key, or d key). Top tier mages can hit on probably about 70% at most of damage spells. I mean, I agree if every spell is hit that's a problem but that just doesn't happen against anyone who can PvP

    It ain't that simple the arrow hitbox is pretty big if you use it right onto the player hitbox the chance of dodging is small, an Engineer turret does exact the same. When you run with speed 2 as assassin you can dodge an engineer turret. There are reasons for people hating bowspam, I simply can knockback them back 30 blocks and headshot them.

    *Assassin has speed 3 when using the speed boost
    Bowspam is looked down upon as engineer, spellspam, or potspam is looked down upon. Its a viable strategy but its annoying as all hell and a majority of the community dislikes it. But thats not the point of this thread so I'll shut up.
