Idea Credits For Winning Team

    The idea behind this post is that I feel that the winning team of CTF should get some credits for winning the game, not just individuals getting creds for steals and / or retrieves.

    I feel like this should be a thing because the current system favors players that already have kits, as well as working against players that play to support their teams, such as the medic that heals people by the flag, or the engi that sets up a TP near the enemy base and spends the game defending it.

    I would think that this would be a decent reward, somewhere around 30-40 creds.

    no. people could just join a game and get credits without doing anything.

    With the right restrictions coded in to prevent all potential abuse (which is possible), yes please.

    I'd like to see this with a required % of the map spent on that team, to avoid team swapping to get credits as well as something to prevent afk xp.

    Only allow team switching during pre-game and this would be an ok addition imo.
    Having the winning reward 20 extra credits is fine, who's going to go afk on tons of rounds just to get enough credits to buy one class. It isn't that big of a deal imo.

    Maybe in order to get the credits for winning the game, you have to have gotten a certain minimum of credits already in that round.

    Let's say the minimum was 20 credits (just a random scenario) if a player gets at least 20 credits then they'd get the victory boost of credits.

    Personally I don't think getting credits is hard, you just have to do something productive in the game.

    Naturally its only a basic concept, it would have to be looked at to prevent abuse, I just think that support classes should get some benefit for helping. Maybe even a way to vote for players that you think helped your team at the end of the game to get them some extra credits

    Credits for medic heals has been suggested before and has been hugely popular every single time it's been brought up. Should be added imo

    on topic...

    credits should be based on participation. Not on what team you happen to be on. That's my issue with this

    My Java is messed up and it disconnects me mid-game very often, on average at least twice every 20 minutes. I always try to switch back to my original team after I was once accused of "always switching to the winning team". Friends also wouldn't be able to play on the same team/opposite teams. So I'd rather not have this added.
    Also prevents me from farming caps...

    Though CTF is team oriented the player importance is often unbalanced. Giving a winning team credits for a good effort means that a useless player gets credits for the effort of the players that actually tried. Currently, credits being earned by directly helping the team with kills recovers and captures is the easiest way to reward players that directly help the team.

    I dont see many roles that will not reward credits in some ways (besides support) but I do not think giving a winning team some credits for winning would really solve that issue. It would involve a lot of changes to make the rewarding of credits "fair" and the amount of grey area that leaves doesn't seem very worth it.

    What if switching teams, as GalaThundR mentioned, were only allowed pre-game, but instead of only a set number of bonus credits for the winning team, all members are also awarded a bonus % of what they've gained during the match? In World of Warcraft's Battlegrounds, something similar would happen. The players who gained a great deal of "Honor" would see a boost if they were on the victorious team, and players who were idle in low-action areas would even receive less Honor than seemingly more contribution-driven players on the losing team.

    I suggest a base of 5 bonus credits per player who finish on the winning team of each round, plus 20% (or 1/5th) boost to their earned objective credits for all members of the victory team (rounded down). If an effective "team carrying" player managed to earn 100 credits, he or she would instead see 120 credits - which isn't an insane boost, but it's better than the player riding the coattails of the winning team who killed 2 players, earned 9 credits (only boosting up by the base 5), and wouldn't see any bonus above that because it wasn't quite enough to round up to 10 total.

    Mathematically, this would equate to:
    {[(Current credits earned during the round total) x 1.2] + 5} for the players on the team that won the round.

    Another incentive to maintain fairness and avoid a bit of exploitation is if some measure was put into place that would maintain that team counts remain relatively fair balanced. A group of Brawl MEMBERS who are all close friends deciding to join Red team, for example, could easily outnumber Blue by quite a bit. They'd easily dominate the rounds, and their reward for this exploit would be even more credits under their belt (as if they'd have any use for more credits as members who most likely already own all the available classes).
