smods

How does winter deserve CTF smod at all. I haven't seen her for over a year in game and she barely offers any community input, the only thing I see her doing is the Teams Update thread every month.

 

@RockTomb I can with great confidence assure you that every SMod promotion this time was well deserved. Lots of things happen behind the walls that goes unnoticed by the community and even former staff. c:

It's about leadership, activity and professionalism.

Name a few things I've been doing as staff for the past month or so, please.

 

Not only you, things such as that CTF is voting for their own Smod was leaked out a couple of minutes after the descicion was made in the Staff team, I still get informations about what is being said about me and general things about the Staff team lol.
There's always been major leak issues in the Staff team, that's what I was reffering to xd.

Example : Removers has received Informations about the case when literally every Moderator possible tried getting evidence on him a while ago, he knew about it within minutes.
Those things happen not only once. They happen a lot ^^

I take it as you can't say what I've done as staff. Nor would you be able to if I was a regular Moderator and was promoted to SMod. Due to that you are also not necessarily aware of the new SMods performance the past month. That further proves my point that yes not everything that happens in the staff - the important stuff about who is performing above expectations - is noticed by the community.

Those leakers just focuses on what the papers would call "a scoop".

 

Maybe it's, from his PoV, the other way around...

 

No one speaks about an Smod alone, they speak about stuff that happens in general not what one person has done in the past month

 

And that's the reason to why some people tend to disagree about promotions. The only people who can to fully determine who exceeds expectations are the ones which are (or at least should) be contracted about changes and those that sees who is taking the most responsibility and initiative in discussions: Admins and SMods.

In the end of the day it is the individual's performance that determines whether this player is worthy the rank of SMod or not.

I think @b0squet @DarkTitan_ and @Miskey will get smod.

Regarding the ctf voting for their own smod thing, I'd say it was far from the only factor. Personally, I had the third most votes within that poll. You can argue that I'm not ctf manager I guess, but anyone that thought b0s wasn't going to get ctf community manager has no idea what actually goes on in committee/staff chat.

 

One can be a great leader and act very professional but if you don't work hard (i.e exceed expectations) one ain't going to get anywhere.

Getting SMod is about performing above expectations, being a good leader, and acting professionally, or at least knowing when to act professionally.

 

it's not about getting smod in this case, it's about half of the Staff team leaking ****, may it be an accident or not

 

Feel free to discuss that, the original point of this discussion was that in many cases staff member's performances goes unnoticed by the community and therefore the community is not in position to say "you don't do stuff you do not deserve this promotion". c:

Dasky, your hair is flawless.

I do agree with Dasky though. Staff do things that non-staff players don't see. It's why I feel the judgement of the staff is more relevant than the judgement of the players (No offense) as staff get to see the full picture. However, that does not mean players opinion doesn't matter. It just means if your point is made redundant by the fact you don't see the whole picture then...

But just on that - I don't get the feeling that player opinions have a say in the big picture of things :/
