    Hey Brawlers,

    Now that Mc-Warfare has been out for a few weeks now, many clans have started to take form. I think now is a good time to announce one of our major future plans, Clan Wars.

    With Clan Wars, we will need a separate server to hold these matches on. If you're familiar with the CTF match server, this will be a lot like that. If you're unfamiliar, this server will be a place where matches take place. Two clans will go head to head in a match with certain rules and restrictions.

    What are Clan Wars?
    Clan Wars will be a match clan system. Clans can fight each other competitively, or for fun/practice. We will create a spread-sheet with time slots you can register, and we will let clans decide on times and rules for a match. Be sure to post in the new forum 'matches' when you have a match scheduled with another clan. Any kind of clan can play in matches, but only Official Clans can play in Seasons.

    How do I make my clan official?
    First, we need to make clans on the forums really important. We have created a subforum "Official Clans" that you cannot post in. You will have to work hard to achieve the 'Official' status, and once you do your thread will be put in the Official Clans subforum, you'll able to participate in Official Matches, and enter in Clan Seasons. More info about Official Clans can be found here.

    When my clan becomes official, what then?
    Official Clans will have a sort of season. A season will be two months long. Clans would have to play a set number of matches (at least 5) to be qualified to count in that season. Your placement (number of wins) will determine what clan benefits you get after the season ends. The better you do, obviously the better the rewards are. Rewards are still being discussed, but they will be totally worth it. If you want to get in on the first competitive season, I suggest you either find a clan or start your own soon! Once the season starts, any new official clans will have to wait for the next season to participate (they can still schedule matches!). More info about Clan Seasons can be found here.

    More information on Clan Wars will be released once we've worked out all the details. Please note that some of this information can/will be changed.

    That’s gonna turn into only CTF mods reffing matches and that made people really happy at the end, offer training for any mod to become Ref
    Do you have
    • A public rule set for matches (i.e: ctf mmr)
    • A way of organizing and documenting teams, matches, and match times
    • easy ways to regulate basically everything that needs to be changed for a match

    I like the idea of this however do I think it's going to work? No. War in my opinion has a far smaller community than CTF and while a large percentage of current community team members in CTF don't actually play the game regularly, they still play their fair share of matches (a good example is Anni).

    Because the war community is smaller than before, there aren't going to be those players that are inactive and just play for the "clan wars" like on CTF. With an already small community, I don't believe there will be as many teams as you think there will be, this would cause a lack of matches and kill the idea off. While members of brawls other communities could create teams, it wouldnt be fun due to the fact they'd have to play against people who've been playing for a long time and know what they are doing, this is also a problem on CTF.

    I also feel this kind of takes away the originality in CTF teams that was one of CTF's main selling points. I don't want to soumd negative but I just don't think this will last long.

    War's community is less present on the forums, you are right about that. I am hoping this will drag people on the forums and make Clan Threads and put effort into their Clan and to try to win and be competitive. I am hopeful, and I'm going to put a lot of my time and effort into making everyone happy, and to make this successful. And I tried to model this after CTF seeing how successful CTF is.
