    Since the Soon™ train has apparently left the station, figured I'd update you guys on where we are - specifically, waiting on coder time to get the changes tested. Will keep you guys posted as to when testing will occur.

    I love the idea concerning wind element and overal it's a decent rework, but I do have some commentary:

    - The sword
    What I get from this rework is that this elf has to rely on pure element for kills. This can still be hard to do in crowded rooms. Now I'd suggest to keep sharp II here or to add a KB I enchantment for crowd control.

    - Water element
    I like the splash zone idea, but I'd prefer it to be instant. Have right-click lapis lazulli activate it and left-click on teammates will extinguish their fire.

    So, since the changes to elf are online(dunno howlong), I've decided to talk a bit about our new "mage".

    The Wind Element, oh gosh, wasted good idea tbh. It's more annoying than mages freezing you over and over again, since you can dodge the freeze ball, but elf just topped this with an area of effect vortex(pulls you back) and his spammable, this becomes annoying when you actually have the flag and a single elf screws you up, allowing recov to catch up. The vortex can also be used to move the def away from the flag, allowing someone to get a free steal.
    This has only 2 counters, ninja with his pearls or teammates killing/distracting the elf.

    Current live elf is just a version that was used to test mechanics. Pull range, duration and cool down aren't correct.

    Please, no more cooldowns. How about the vortex only comes when you actually shoot the enemy?

    I can't stand it. It's only proving my point that Brawl's balancing team is as stupid as I thought. All I can see from this is a second Mage that has a melee. I don't see class diversity, I don't see something unique, all I see, is a second Mage, and that both ticks me off, and depresses me. I was expecting Elf to become a unique class, with it's own abilities. But this just promotes Pure Element spam even more than it did before.

    Edit: And I'm not talking about the test version. This entire rework seems like a second mage to me. I don't like this one bit, and it's only going to make CTF worse, instead of better.

    I don't mind the reworking ideas tbh. Not gonna know what works until it works. Just wondering why there wasn't an interim test phases or small matches to tweak and balance the class before release

    There will be testing phases. The version of elf that accidentally went live is nothing like the actual finished product.

    Thanks Devin! I'm glad we have people like you to tell us how awful an unfinished rework is not to mention how stupid Brawl's balancing team is. Especially that Nohox guy. Did you see his Dwarf rework? Oh man you're in for a treat!

    This thread has been up for over 4 months, during which you did not post one Significant Thought on it. So I don't understand why you are trashing a unfinished rework when you made not only made no contribution to beforehand but even when you did post its just about how terrible it is.

    Sounds all great, apart from the wind element vortex thing, I loved shooting wind element at players to push them away to then shoot them with pure element. I can't tell if ninjas are on the flag now or at my teams flag carrier, as wind element doesn't show a particle if it hits an opponent. I think wind element should be left the way it is, or a "fully drawn bow could be the vortex and a not fully drawn could be the wind element"-Knaber.
    Removing earth element makes elf even MORE weak to ninjas, as earth element was the most effective way to kill a ninja attacking you.
    Pure element buff is great i suppose, but not needed as you have vortex.
    Water element is great, It shows great use in supporting flag carriers or in enemy flag rooms as the pyro cannot frenzy.
    Hope after the update elf will get more use in matches, and elf will get more overall use.
