    I edited a lot of things since the first version of the class so be sure toi check the changes, it's fast .


    The class is more interesting to play than the other free classes (mobility, damage, abilities) while remaining very simple to use and is the only free recovery class. It can also be very effective to end a stalemate.



    The Hunter - A Free Recovery Class
    Fight the hunter or die!

    Role : Recovery (chasing the flag carrier or ending a stalemate)


    Armor:

    • Chainmail helmet
    • Chainmail chestplate
    • Chainmail pants
    • Leather boots (enchanted Feather Falling II)


    Items:

    • Iron sword sharpness I : "Slowing-sword"
    • 4 steaks


    Abilities:

    Chase : When you hit an enemy with the sword, the enemy gets slowness I and wither I for 1 second. If you hit the same enemy 5 times, you deal slowness II and wither II instead until you hit another enemy.
    --› Purpose : Players, and particularly flag carriers, will struggle to escape from the hunter.

    Propulsion : The hunter can choose everytime between 2 different instant mobility abilities, each being more adapted to a certain situation. Click on the drop button to be launched 5 blocks forward or double click on space bar to double-jump (around 6-7 blocks height) after the landing, to activate the "Determination" ability.
    --› Cooldown : 7 seconds (shown in the xp bar)
    --› Purpose : It can be used to reach a flag carrier, who is running or standing still (in order to pass through its support)

    Determination : This is a period of 2 seconds during which the hunter deals true damage, no knockback and unables enemies in a 3x3 blocks area to jump (this includes wall-climb).
    --› Purpose : It synergies well with the propulsion because after reaching the flag carrier, the hunter can deal a lot of damage quite easily.

    Anti-block : When you hit an enemy who blocks (this applies to wall-climb), your damage isn't divided by 2 but is multiplied by 2. An alert is sent to the one who blocks: Stop blocking, a hunter is attacking you!
    --› Purpose : It can be used to recover when there is a stalemate and the flag carrier is blocking, and very hard to kill if supported.




    Note that, apart from its recovery role, the hunter can have a lot of different roles because it is good in 1v1 thanks to the effect that the sword gives, its damage and the armor, in chasing players other than flag carrier too, in killing tanks and in quickly engaging in fights thanks to the propulsion, while also being able to deal a huge amount of damage after it.

    You've got some interesting concepts here in this class that definitely lend itself to being a recovery class. Overall, I don't see much that would be over or under powered, or make it too complex to be a premium class. There are a few things that I would suggest, however, to make it fit more thematically together with itself and the other classes, as well as a few ability tweaks.

    1. Change the name from Ranger to something else. Rangers tend to be lightly armored fighters with bows or other ranged weapons, not heavily armored warriors. As this class is supposed to chase down opponents with the flag, and has this heavy armor, I would rename it to the Bounty Hunter.

    2. Rename and Rework the "Chaser" ability. While it deals a relatively small amount of damage, the lockdown mechanic and wither effect are extremely potent as they block every single ability and it can be spammed without penalty. This will lead to this class being used more often for offence than recovery, and will possibly lead to it being extremely broken. I would rework this ability to where it only effects the flag carrier, which would lend itself to its recovery class and prevent it from being broken.

    One idea could be, in keeping with the Bounty Hunter theme, a 'Mark Bounty' ability. This ability marks the flag carrier for the next 20 seconds, no matter who has the flag or if it changes hands. They are prevented from using any escape mechanics (soldier's climb, ninja's pearl, elf's wind element, assassin's sugar, and teleporting), and you deal increased damage and no knockback to your target. 30 second cooldown.

    3. I'd go with the leap ability for your propulsion ability. It's a novel idea that does not exist in any current CTF class, it would help you catch up with soldiers more effectively than the speed, and multiple classes already have speed mechanisms.

    4. I'd increase the steak count from 1 to 2. Even with the high armor, this class doesn't have as much survivability as you think it does if you intend for it to be played in the recovery role.

    Overall, you have a decent class idea that's relatively well thought out and simple enough to be a free class. While there have been numerous other free recovery class ideas created to contend with yours, it's decent enough to compete for the spot with a little more work and tweaking.

    I completely agree with @THECOMMANDER5643 on this one.
    Pretty creative idea you've got here and we honestly need a free recovery class that is effective in slowing down a flag carrier and could open up a new role within the teams setting along with recovery. I'm not going to reiterate, but I agree completely with the points listed above.:grinning:

    Even if the class has a good armor, it only has 1 steak so it isn't really tanky. My idea was to forget the steaks and give it a good armor because then the class doesn't have to always eat steaks to heal, (which can be annoying for free players) and can focus on chasing people. However, I agree with you that Bounty Hunter would be a better name, I'm not english so I didn't really know what was the most appropriate name. Bounty Hunter is too long and is a compound word so I would prefer Hunter, which is enough in my opinion.

    The hunter deals a very small amount of damage with the chaser as you said, so I think it can't be spammed without penality because the hunter can be easily killed by the player who runs away while using the chaser. Moreover, I suggested in the notes that the ranger could take more knockback (+50% or even +100%) while holding the chaser so that his chasing ability can be countered.

    I don't think this class will be really used on offense because it can be killed easily (not a lot of armor ans no speed), doesn deal a lot of damage with the chaser and doesn't even deal knockback with it so the hunter can't really resist to the defenders and would be quite useless. The only useful ability it has on offense is the Pyro frenzy block. Furthermore, if you think that my suggestion of the hunter receiving more knockback while holding the chaser is good, then it would make it bad on offense because it would be knockbacked every time.

    I don't agree with this one. A class shouldn't be totally made for a specific target. Moreover, it would make the class very boring to play because most of the time the flag isn't stolen, so the class would have no interest, and if people want to play it differently from recovering, they can't. If you really think the chaser ability is broken, I have a nice idea: we can give a very light armor to the hunter instead, but give it a lot of steaks to rebalance, and make the cooldown of switching back from sword to the chaser also for the steaks, so that people can attack the hunter a bit in order to force it to eat steaks, and so, unable it to use its chaser for a little period of time, and so, to escape or kill it using abilities. I would increase the cooldown from 2 to 4 seconds (or 3) to make the chaser less OP. I am gonna work on this I think.
    It's a good idea but as I said I don't really like abilities which focus on only one target.
    Well, now it exists with chemist which has 3 leap potions (it was tested Yesterday (for my timezone) and will probably be implemented.
    I don't really agree with this idea for hunter because it needs to be fast in order to run after the flag carrier and reach it. The propulsion the class already has can enable the ranger to reach soldiers if it is well coded, I just suggested speed 4 to be sure that the class can have a similar ability if the dev can't code the first Idea. I think there is no class with a similar mechanism . However, I thought when I created the class of enabling the class to double jump, which can ne really cool but in addition of the propulsion ability I think (because otherwise the hunter can't reach the flag carrier, which already all free classes can't do: free classes need a bit of speed!)

    Well, look at ninjas and assassins . That's a good idea tho, I think that as I said before, I will decrease a lot the armor and increase the amount of steaks (I will try to increase his survivability when doing this "trade")

    I agree with everyone above but perhaps lower the amount of blocks the class is able to jump? however it is just a suggestion 7 blocks could be a bit much. You could lower the jump to 6 or 5 and have the cool down be faster. For example, 5 blocks and a 7-8 second cool down? Anyways, I like the idea, and agree there is a needed free class that can recover. Great idea!
