Idea Counter to spawn camping!

    In CTF one big issue i have thought is making a problem is people who spawn camp. Spawn camping should no be allowed and i have thought of a counter for it.

    While playing the game there may be people who stand outside of spawn and just repeatedly kill you as you exit spawn. This is also an issue with archers because they have insta kill from far. So that people just in words farm kills and ruin the game for those they are trapping.

    I also understand that the CTF community has died here but with what little is left i would like to raise this idea

    Spawn protection!! This idea is based on having a phew seconds of spawn protection after you have died and re spawn so that no one can kill you, if you attack somone then you loose it.

    I was thinking it might just be 3 seconds time to allow you to get clear of spawn and spawn campers.

    It is in my opinion a simple idea to code/ add to CTF and would make the biggest difference in smaller players games however in full games also.

    Could be abused if there's a stalemate and the flag carrier camps next to spawn. People could use their spawn protection to kill anyone trying to recover.

    they would essentially loose spawn prot, but i see the problem, it probably would be abused

    One thing that could potentially make this viable is spawn prot for 4 seconds instead of 3 seconds, but if the player while under spawn prot hits an opponent, the spawn prot dissipates.

    The only way I can see spawn prot to work if it is done when you hit someone, or maybe even when you swing your sword (this may be too extreme.) While I do agree it would be nice, there are other problems that come from spawn orotection that need to be solved if it were to be added

    But can't this go the other way too. That one archer that is just driving you mad. So you go to kill them but all they do is run in and out and you can't heart them. And they jump out hit u then jump in Regen for a sec then jump out and hit you. I personally think the you shouldn't be able to re enter spawn while in combat but that's not what this thread is about sorry.

    it would wear off after 3 or if u hit somone,

    re gen as normal. so only outside of spawn if ur class has it, like assassin doesn't have re gen but heavy does. and in spawn as normal. so no different than just standing there now but u cant die for 4 seconds.

    And It only applies if u die and respawn

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure CTF already has spawn protection of 2.5 seconds or so, which is generally used to protect you from fall damage when you exit spawn. It will be increased a bit, since you still take fall damage on maps like Skyworlds. It should also protect you from enemy hits as long as you don't deal damage yourself, in which case you lose the spawn protection immediately. Not sure if this is the case however, could use a test. :thumbsup:

    i know about the fall damage, but the main issue is archers sniping as soon as u exit spawn, i feel like it needs to increased. other things like spawn camping elf is also an issue i have seen. i was unaware that the current one protects from other damage as well a falling.
