I know the new wave just released, but I still get really bored with the old maps.

What if the map rotation alternated every 1-2 months to keep things kind of fresh?

Here's an example of two 40ish-map sets that might be interchanged. I tried to pair maps with either decent alternate versions/reskins or others relatively comparable in gameplay.

Maybe the two sets could even be reduced to 30 to cut out the "fluff" and just take breaks from specific maps.

    SET 1 - SET 2
    Academy II - Academy I
    Airlock I - Celestial Gardens
    Atlantis I - Cuboid
    Bazaar - Citadel I
Beaver Creek I - Walrus Creek
    Blackout - Whiteout
Canadian Fort - Canadian Fort I
Castle Cavern IV - Castle Wars IV
    Clocktower IV - Clocktower V
Desert Strike III - Mario Strike
    Divinity's Reach V - Aquafus V
    Dragon Valley I - Dragon Valley V
Futuristic City - Tuscan City I
Giant Chests I - Giant Emojis
    Harvest I - Kauwela Shore
Kill Creek IV - Kill Creek V
    Large Hall I - Chernobyl
    Lowrise - Lowprice
    Martian Outpost I - Discovery
Modern Diversity - Shattered Rift VI
    Molten - Tanks
    Moria V - Geo
Night Raid II - Medieval Siege
Opposites Collide VII - Opposites Collide V
Orchid Cascades I - Wisteria Grove
    Platforms I - Fatforms
    Quintet Falls I - Halo V
    Ravine Ruins - Lighthouse V
    Rocky Ruins - River Crossing
    Skyworlds V - Skyworlds I
    Slate - Woodcastle Arena I
    Standoff V - Kingdom Islands I
Sunstar - Forest of Rivals I
    Tibetan Seclusion I - Norse Dominion I
    Treeline I - Aurora
    Unholy Faith V - Serpent's Lair IV
Valley of Ruin IV - Valley of Siege
    Villaggio Chiesa - Castle Village
    Waitomo Caves - Hortis Arboribus

I like this, takes away the repetitive gameplay that can sometimes happen when you have similar maps one after the other. Also may fix map rotation seeming to favour certain maps, the other night two of the servers had the same 3 maps back to back, so this seems like a good way to make more variety.

I like this idea a lot as it adds variety to the rotation, however these maps were removed for a number of reasons and some of the community might not like the fact that these maps are back in rotation, even for a temporary amount of time. +0 for now.

knowing how the rotation likes to favor recently played maps (unless it actually has been coincidences, correct me if im wrong) it might also be good to have these "sets" of maps one for each server so to ensure more unique maps are played while still keeping a wide variety

ngl, im sure adding in a few old quality maps that were voted lower than others like *cough* OCV or whatever classic well-made OG one like even an early Clocktower, etc that has essentially been sent to the graveyard to rot since "old" maps dont get the opportunity to be re-entered into a future rotation - not to say they cant also be dusted off with a slight reskin or editing, but i feel like sometimes it can steal a lot of the deserved credit from the original owner and other times theres nothing quite like the original (again appreciating old map boosters, but case in point)

    1. Should we start putting the original mapmakers as an author on reworks?
If you guys think it's a change that should be made we can do it. I'd always followed Saixos's examples, idk the protocol.

    2. I appreciate the old map boosters, but some of the old ones are absolutely miserable to play on. I think the maps that were still pretty good but pushed out of rotation because duplicate reworks entering rotation could be given another shot. (Ex: when Pavo's Academy was replaced with the newer version, it was actually rated higher than the newer.)

    3. I like the separate server idea, but I also think having too many maps makes it hard for new players to learn all of them. It takes about a month for a new player playing regularly to learn layouts... And we've creeped up from about 40 maps to over 50 in rotation.

    4. What are your favorite maps removed from rotation in old waves?
    @everyone^^^

Looking at the difference in voting opinions at the beginning of a wave to the end shows me that opinions really shift around over time. I never could've never predicted Large Hall, Molten, or Airlock staying in rotation this wave.

Ye. It's either I make lists to calm myself down or I spiral into fits over petty things.

    Lists it is for now.

I don’t know how to quote so imma just use numbers.

    1. I think this is good so that the original map makers get credit for their work. Something like “Original by ______” “Rework by _______”

    3. I’m all for this idea, however I’d hate for one server to be favoured over the other 2, which would lead to people specifically picking that server. To make this well balanced I think it’d be worth thoroughly listing out which maps go onto which server, mixing in a few well liked ones in. I agree that it takes a while to learn the maps but those who really enjoy the gameplay of the server will probably stick around to learn them. Overall though it’s a solid idea.
