    So is it possible to request to be in gamemode 3 to spectate a match? Sure this could be used to cheat for another team, but I just want to make quality renders of ctf matches.

    There is already a /spectate function available on match server, and a mod is allowed to set players into spectator depending on what kind of match is occurring.

    You can always ask a staff member to get in spectator mode
    In official matches teams can decide if they want spectators or not
