Idea archer rework idea

    i have seen a bunch of people complaining about archer, and I have thought of a different idea for archer.

    The idea is to make archer have the same functions as the archer kit in hcf.

    Which would be that whenever a player gets hit by an arrow they get an archer tag, where they take 25% (could change to fit ctf) more damage when hit by players until the archer tag timer runs out.

    Another quick addition would be to pull a player directly down to the ground (no fall damage taken) whenever they get hit by an arrow and keep them there for a little while so that players could atleast do some damage to classes like soldier that can wall climb. (This is all while the archer tag is active)

    That's an interesting idea. Would archer still be able to headshot? and how many archer tags do they get? is there a cool down from after using it, and how long would it be? I'm still a bit iffy on the idea since it might make archer a really powerful class but it would give them more of a use than just annoying bow spam and headshots lol

    Maybe whenever a player gets hit by an arrow, by the archer, the archer tag will increase its percentage. For example, an archer shoots at someone and hits. They get 10% more damage while players hit him. The next shot will be 15%, and next will be 20% ect. This goes up till 30%.

    it’d replace the headshot ability, and you can only be archer tagged once until the archer tag timer runs out, then you can be tagged again. I also don’t know how long thw rag would be, itd be up the the devs

    idk seems a little bit similar to pure element in elf

    This implies people play objectively with archer. Speaking from experience almost no one in casual plays archer objectively. It's rather difficult to change an insta kill class to anything less than that, without changing other aspects of the class. Since the whole class was built around a long range insta kill, you'd need to change other aspects of the class so it doesn't flop after the insta kill is removed.

    For example: Pyro
    Pyro's insta kill was removed, but it still had the same armor. The amount of people that stopped playing the class was huge, and now playing pyro is more of a chore than a fun thing. However an armor buff was given to pyro to balance it out. Point being, you can't remove an insta kill and not change something else in the class to balance it.

    Overall though, not a fan of nerfs. The more nerfs this game gets the less I want to play it

    Ctf is built on fast-paced action so it'd make more sense to instead keep the instakill but provide more counters to it rather than removing the instakill all-together. Indirectly nerfing it by making other game aspects stronger against it is better than directly nerfing it if by itself.

    I admittedly don’t like this idea, it’s interesting but the instakill is often the only way to counter certain scenarios, especially stalemates, and I feel like this change would severely lessen the amount of damage an archer could do. You’d more than likely get hardly any kills, since you’re supporting other players, consequentially leading to hardly anyone playing archer and in turn limiting the variety in the free classes. I’m sure there are ways to change archer so that it’s not as annoying, but I don’t think this is it (although it’s a unique concept).

    This idea is no better then my idea about archer changes [no offense] because archer cant really do anything on its own. If there was a range limit [30 blocks range for the current archer will result in headshot], then i would dislike it less because it reminds me of elf earth element which was removed long ago.

    interesting concept tho, maybe we can add it to elf?

    although a buff, itd still be pretty balanced (assuming the multiplier would only be added for successful pure element shots) since if an elf is shooting an enemy with its pure element (thus giving that enemy player a damage intake multiplier), then IF teammates come in to attack that player, then the elf wouldnt be able to continue shooting pure/vortex combos to continue to harm/kill the enemy as its shots would get blocked by the teammates....

    ....so itd better encourage the option for coordinated team fighting with not only the vortex shot but also the pure element (which is harder to pull off in the first place)

    fair point, maybe they could add power or something, but idk.
    good idea, would be better than the annoying pure element
